Itinerary

Begin your adventure with pickup from your Siem Reap hotel for the roughly 45-minute journey to Kompong Phluk. Depending on the season, you’ll travel by minibus (February to July) or by minibus and boat (August to January). Transfer to a small boat and set sail along the lake, passing stilted houses and schools, floating markets, pagodas, and fishing boats as your guide tells you more about local life, customs, and traditions.

Wet-season visitors can also opt to enjoy a traditional canoe ride around the flooded forests (for an additional expense) and experience the region’s unique ecosystem as you glide between the semi-submerged trees.

Back in Siem Reap, your tour ends with a drop-off at your hotel.

Mr Phearom was a really good tour guide. He told us a lot about the country and the people who live in it. We did the tour to the Tonle Sap Lake. The scenery and nature was beautiful. I would definetely recommend this tour to everyone.

The tour is operated in a large...

The tour is operated in a large group basis 40 people with only 1 tour guide, putting us on a big boat. The short canoe ride the pictures upwards costs extra USD 5 per person which is NOT mentioned in important info. If you are not joining, youd need to wait for at least 1 hour. After finishing the small boat tour, we are stacked in a small restaurant for 30 minutes for no purpose, and waiters kept on giving you the menu. Disappointingly it was in a bad weather and no sunset, the tour ended at 7:30pm.

great guide!

I booked this in the morning and like clockwork phearom was there at 2pm for our half day tour. He was very knowledgeable and spoke great English. Remember if you want a private tour within the floating village with one of the villagers it will cost your 10 bucks more. interesting trip and worthwhile.

A caring and interesting tour guilde

We had a tour visiting Tonle Sap lake and floating village on 3rd Sep, 2017 and our tour guild is Phearom. We had an interesting journey with a caring and knowledgeable tour guilde and did not have any problems. Overall, I am very satisfied with this tour. I will definitely recommend this to my friends. P/s: We are giving only 4/5 stars because tour doesn't look like the description which we was given (We booked the tour from the third party). We think may be it's a misunderstanding.

Worth every penny

We booked two tours with these guys - Angkor day tour & Tonle Sap half day tour. Both were well organized & was fun. Phearom Phal was our guide & he was funny, witty and brought all people together as a group. And there was a good supply of cold water. All in all, this is worth every penny you spend.

Wonderful tour to Angkor Wat and the Floating Villages

We took our first tour with this company yesterday to Angkor Wat. Our tour guide was Phearom and I cannot say enough wonderful things about the whole day. Phearom spoke beautiful English and was a wealth of knowledge about Cambodian culture in general and specifically about Angkor Wat. He never rushed us, answered all our questions and even took photos for us! He made the day so special for us that we went back to our hotel at night and booked a tour for today to the Floating Villages which was equally fantastic. This is a first class company and I highly recommend them. The airconditioned yellow bus was a wonderful treat after incredibly hot weather!! If you can, REQUEST PHEAROM!!!

We booked our trip through...

We booked our trip through Tripadvisor and were picked up without any issues direct from our hotel in Siem Reap. We were in a small group of five consisting of our family, with two young boys, and another lady. Our guide was extremely informative and friendly and put us all on our ease on the drive to the the quay at Tonle Sap in an air conditioned van. The route took us out of Siem Reap to more rural areas and gave us a glimpse of how many rural communities live. The boat we met at the quay to take us down to Tonle Sap lake could be considered basic by Western standards, however, it felt a lot more like the real Cambodia than taking a large tourist boat. The trip down river to the lake was absolutely fascinating, taking you the main route through the sunken forest. Although the noise of the engine did mean our guide wasn't able to describe things fully, he pointed out sights of interest to us and answered our many questions. The main destination - the lake itself - is interesting for its impressive scale, but the real highlight is seen on the way - Kompong Phluk. The floating village feels as authentic as it can with the many visitors passing through it, with the tourism confined to the floating restaurant where you can stop for drinks on the way back and have the opportunity to pay a little extra to be paddled around the mangroves and sunken forest on a short trip. This also gives you a brief chance to see some of the village closer to and I would recommend the few dollars extra for the short canoe ride. The whole experience was unforgettable and also an opportunity to talk to our guide and find out more about the lives of the people who live on and around the lake. Some might find the tour itself a little basic for Westerners who might be used to luxury, but I found it to be unforgettable and wouldn't hesitate recommending it to others.
