Angkor Wat

There were 6 of us on the tour and the guides name was Noy who explained the history as we went around, it made for a very interesting day, He readily answered any questions we asked. The driver of the very comfortable, air cooled bus was always waiting with cold water after each temple. A lot of walking and steep stairs are involved but boy is it worth it. The different temples take your breath away. Noy certainly looked after us and i would recommend Viator and Noy to all who are interested in visiting the wonders of Angkor Wat.

Fabulous Angkor Wat sunrise tour

Phearom was a fabulous tour guide, his thorough knowledge of the history of the area made the sightseeing much more fulfilling. Really great selection of sites, a very efficient use of time to see the highlights of the vast Angkor Wat area.

Extremely knowledgeable

This is my third tour of Angkor Wat, but it was by far the best due to the commentary of our extremely knowledgeable guide, Mr. Srun Sarat. He not only explained in detail the sites we were witnessing, but he provided a wealth of historical and cultural background. I would highly recommend you seek out Mr. Srun as your guide to any Siem Reap site.

It was a great trip!

Our guide Vanlonh was really nice, not only dis he give us information on the sites and some history, he is also good at craking jokes and taking cool pictures for everyone. We visited in a very crowd day, and so he decided to take us to a quiet temple where there was no one, that was very nice after fighting the crowds in Ta Prom...I definitely recommend this trip.

FULL ON DAY

Take snacks to eat in the tour van on your way to the next temple (no eating around the temples). I was the first of the group to get picked up at 8am and the last was picked up around 9:15am. Our tour guide was a bit hard to understand at times but was very helpful when you asked him questions on things you wanted to know. This tour didn't include lunch so we went to a local restaurant around 1pm (that's why you take snacks), you'll pay around $5-7 (US) for a meal and $3 for beers. Water is provided in the van, there is lots of freaky stair climbing! The temples, you really just need to see them yourself they are incredible! The day ended around 6pm and I was back at my hotel by 7. I left feeling as though I still needed to see more!

Knowledgeable, gracious and trustworthy guides

Our small group had the good fortune to tour with Vanlonh (Lonh). He’s a local from Siem Reap who spoke English clearly and was knowledgeable and could answer our questions. He also managed to find the right balance with us so we didn’t get “temple-d out.” He stepped up with framing views and snapping pics for us all day. His hard work to get licensed as a guide and dedication will be apparent to you too.

Affordable Ankor Wat Tour

I had an amazing tour with Vanlohn (aka Loy) with my girlfriend in February 2018. We opted for the small group tour which visited some of the major temples. He was very knowledgeable and friendly and spoke great English. He was able to answer any of our questions and was obviously quite knowledgeable. He was also very friendly and presented us with some amazing suggestions for photos, including clever ways to use the panoramic function of your phone for pictures. The tour is a great deal ($19 pp at the time if at least two people with hotel pickup/droppff). We lucked out and only had one other member with us so really set our own pace with the tour. We didn’t have time to do all the photo spots, but it’s better this way if you’re only doing one day at Angkor Wat. I had visited the year prior without a tour and thought it was cool, but it it’s 100% a better experience with a guide who knows their facts. There is an incredible history behind these temples that make the experience so much more than large temples with intricate details. Honestly, doing any more than the three temples (Angkor Wat, Bayon, Ta Prohm) and two spots (elephant terrace/restaurant) would be way too much for one day. My only advice is to increase his energy while explaining the history or stories that go with each temple. However he may have just been more quiet telling the stories in respect for the other tour groups and the fact that we are on sacred ground and should be respectful. Also, the restaurant we went to was about 3x than the city with meals ranging $7-12. It was very good food, however, and he later explained that the restaurants closer to the temples have to pay a tax and the properties are obviously more expensive to maintain so I can sympathize. Still, overall, i had an amazing time would definitely recommend it to others!

Above and beyond experience!

This tour was SO much fun. From beginning to end our tour guide, Vanlonh, kept us giggling with jokes, hydrated and full of new experiences. Not only did he give an excellent tour, but showed us the best spots for taking pictures. Our group consisted of two couples and two families. We all had a blast. Definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting SR. And request Vanlonh if you can! We cannot praise his awesomeness enough. Great value for an affordable price.
