Itinerary

The guide will pick up you at 8 am from your hotel and we will start this day with exploring the temples of UNESCO listed Angkor National Park, the World Heritage site and it's the World Largest Religious Monument. Pay the entrance fee on your own account at the ticket office where we will stop for you to buy one and make your way with the guide to the first stop at Angkor Wat to visit the largest and most impressive of all Angkor temples, considered among one of the 7th Wonders of the World.

Angkor Wat was built between 1113-1150 AD and dedicated to Vishnu, the Hindu god of preservation. It's the best preserved of all the temples. Its layout and its scale are simply breathtaking, the wall surrounding the enclosure measures 1,000 by 800 meters and the moat, said to represent the oceans of the world is 200 meters wide. Angkor Wat is an architectural allegory of the mythical Mount Meru in the center of the world (Himalaya). This amazing temple homes the longest continuous bas relief in the world, which runs along the outer gallery walls.

We also explore the Angkor Thom complex. Its vast walls, some 6m wide, 8m high and 13km in length contain many monuments. Inside the walls the king, his relatives and officials, military officers and priests took residence, the rest of the people lived outside of the great enclosure, between the two artificial lakes. Our visit will begin with the South Gate, a beautiful introduction to Angkor Thom with well-restored statues of Asuras (demons) and gods lining the bridge. Inside the complex, we will first visit the Bayon with 200 endless smiling faces. This temple mountain situated in the center of Angkor Thom City where sets the Bayon apart from many other Angkor monuments and we will continue to the Elephant Terrace, which owes its name to its outstanding depiction of these animals and the Terrace of Leper King, which presents a magnificent sculpture, popularly known as the leper king and then we continue the tour to Ta Phrom was a monastery built by the king Jayavarman VII as a residence for his mother as well as a school.

Ta Phrom has been controversially left to the destructive power of the jungle by French archaeologists to demonstrate the awesome power of nature. It has been largely consumed by the jungle and as you will climb through the dilapidated stone structures you will see many giant trees growing out of the top of the temple itself. At every turn you will expect to see Indiana Jones (Lara Croft) step out from behind a fallen pillar around you.

This tour concludes with return transfer to your hotel or any requested drop off point within the city center.

Amazing tour and amazing guide in Nak.

This tour was perfect for our needs. The temples we saw were awe-inspiring but what made it better was our tour guide, Nak. He was passionate, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, engaging and friendly. He made sure we were happy, he kept our children involved and made sure they were enjoying the amazing locations we visited. Would give 10 stars if I could. I definitely recommend this tour and Nak to anyone who wants to see some of the main temples but has limited time. Thank you Nak!!

This is the tour. Stop searching and book now.

We had a most wonderful day with Mr Nak guiding and Mr Soken driving us. We had our 4 year old daughter with us so knew a whole day wouldn’t work - we did Angkor Wat in the AM and then Bantey Srei, Tah Prohm and begkeng for sunset. We saved Angkor Thom for the next day but likely could have done it in the AM with Angkor Wat if we wanted. Waking up at sunrise I knew once we got in the car she would not make anything but breakfast at the hotel so knowing your group your mileage may vary. Mr Nak is very knowledgeable and passionate about Siem Reap. He speaks very clear English and was wonderful with our daughter - whether it was sitting with her while we climbed to the highest point in Angkor Wat or holding an umbrella for her at Bantei Srei or giving my husband and I the freedom to make a last minute run up bakeng (so?) to catch sunset once the rain broke. Sothken (so?) our driver was so kind. He instantly had a cold water and cool cloth for us, umbrella as needed and he was safe on the road. He also helped to keep Millie company while we did sunset. We recommend this tour especially with Mr Nak and Ken without reservation. Go to Cambodia and see these amazing places with these kind and loving gentlemen.

An amazing tour filled with lots of history and culture!

We had an amazing experience with Green Era Travel from start to finish. Booking online via WhatsApp with Mr Vibol organising our entry ticket to Angkor Wat, our English speaking tour guide and tuk tuk driver. We arrived at our hotel and everything was organised with the receptionist and our tickets dropped off for our 5am pick up. Our tuk tuk driver Mr Sokhen was great, always met us with a smile and a joke and lots of cold water at each spot. Mr Nak our tour guide was exceptional, amazing English, extremely professional and his passion for his culture and country was shown. So impressed with his knowledge and history of all of the temples and the park. He knew all the good spots for photos. It was a very fun day and he shared many stories of his personal life grown up as a monk in a monastery. Definitely recommend 100% saum arkoun!

Nak Chum is a great guide!

Nak Chum is a very knowledgeable and friendly tour guide! His English is excellent. We really enjoyed his tour of Angkor Wat. In particular, he has a lot of insight into the religious significance of various sites, which I found especially interesting.
