Itinerary

The guide will pick up you at 8 am from your hotel and we will start this day with exploring the temples of UNESCO listed Angkor National Park, the World Heritage site and it's the World Largest Religious Monument. Pay the entrance fee on your own account at the ticket office where we will stop for you to buy one and make your way with the guide to the first stop at Angkor Wat to visit the largest and most impressive of all Angkor temples, considered among one of the 7th Wonders of the World.

Angkor Wat was built between 1113-1150 AD and dedicated to Vishnu, the Hindu god of preservation. It's the best preserved of all the temples. Its layout and its scale are simply breathtaking, the wall surrounding the enclosure measures 1,000 by 800 meters and the moat, said to represent the oceans of the world is 200 meters wide. Angkor Wat is an architectural allegory of the mythical Mount Meru in the center of the world (Himalaya). This amazing temple homes the longest continuous bas relief in the world, which runs along the outer gallery walls.

We also explore the Angkor Thom complex. Its vast walls, some 6m wide, 8m high and 13km in length contain many monuments. Inside the walls the king, his relatives and officials, military officers and priests took residence, the rest of the people lived outside of the great enclosure, between the two artificial lakes. Our visit will begin with the South Gate, a beautiful introduction to Angkor Thom with well-restored statues of Asuras (demons) and gods lining the bridge. Inside the complex, we will first visit the Bayon with 200 endless smiling faces. This temple mountain situated in the center of Angkor Thom City where sets the Bayon apart from many other Angkor monuments and we will continue to the Elephant Terrace, which owes its name to its outstanding depiction of these animals and the Terrace of Leper King, which presents a magnificent sculpture, popularly known as the leper king and then we continue the tour to Ta Phrom was a monastery built by the king Jayavarman VII as a residence for his mother as well as a school.

Ta Phrom has been controversially left to the destructive power of the jungle by French archaeologists to demonstrate the awesome power of nature. It has been largely consumed by the jungle and as you will climb through the dilapidated stone structures you will see many giant trees growing out of the top of the temple itself. At every turn you will expect to see Indiana Jones (Lara Croft) step out from behind a fallen pillar around you.

This tour concludes with return transfer to your hotel or any requested drop off point within the city center.

Great experience!!

I had a truly memorable experience visiting Angkor Wat thanks to our amazing tour guide, Nak. He was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and passionate about the history and culture of the temples. His explanations added so much depth to the visit, and he was also very patient, answering all my questions with great detail. I only booked the tour one hour before my flight, and yet everything was arranged flawlessly. Highly recommended if you’re looking for someone who brings the history of Angkor to life!

Memorable experience with SAN

San was the BEST tour guide we ever had!We are well traveled and have a good knowledge of history. We never felt bored with San. He has a wonderful knowledge of history, culture, and was able to answer all our questions. It’s felt like we are spending time with a great local friend, rather than they hired a tour guide. I loved that he knew which route to take to avoid crowds. At times we had no one around us so we could really enjoy the scenery of incredible Ankor Wat and other temples and pagodas.

Great guided visit to Angkor Wat

We loved our guide San, who was full of historical context and stories and absolutely knew the best spots for pictures and was always ready to take photos of us. The temple complex. Was so large that we never could have done an adequate visit without a guide. San also knew to take us into the Mann temple from the rear side first, avoiding the crowds and giving the best light for pictures for the time of day

Experience Angkor Wat – history comes alive with Nak

We were very lucky to explore Angkor Wat with Nak as our private guide – and it was just fantastic! Nak is fluent in English and is incredibly friendly, attentive and personable. What impressed us most was his enormous knowledge – not only of the impressive archaeological site itself, but also of Cambodia’s history and culture. Every temple site came alive through his stories, full of exciting details, stories and backgrounds that we would never have experienced without him. The tour was perfectly tailored to us. We were able to set our own pace, had enough time to watch everything in peace, take photos and just enjoy the moment in between. Nak took beautiful pictures of us – with a great eye for light and perspective – and left us time and again space to capture impressions ourselves. We learned so much, laughed and just had a great day. If you really want to experience and understand Angkor Wat, we can recommend a tour with Nak from the heart. An unforgettable experience!

Amazing private temple tour with San

This is a perfect way to see the Angkor temples! I had a great tour with my guide San, he is so knowledgeable about the temples and Khmer history and made sure I understood everything and saw all of the cool details. He knew all of the best spots to take photos! The tuk tuk driver was great and made sure I always had water and a cold towel. We took a break between temples before Ta Prohm for lunch (not included) at a nearby restaurant. I don’t think anyone should see these temples without a guide, and a private experience means your guide has plenty of time to take care of you, and you can see things larger groups can’t. I would highly recommend this private temple tour!

Family tour of Angkor Wat - Highlights with Sath & Mr Mom

We were blessed to enjoy a small circle tour of Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, and Ta Prohm temple with our wonderful tour guide and photographer extrodinare, Sath and equally lovely driver, Mr Mom. The weather was 'hot, hot & even hotter' (in the words of our 12 yr old) but we were kept enthralled by the history, knowledge, and insights provided by Sath throughout and kept hydrated with water, cooling flannels and air-conditioning in the van. This was a once in a lifetime adventure. Thank you for providing us with forever memories and photos we will treasure always. Highly recommend Sath & Mr Mom.

Great tour!

Exceeded my expectations! My guide Voath was knowledgeable and friendly, as well as patient in answering all my questions about dates and kings constructing each temple. My driver gave me water and a cool towel each time we returned from a temple, a very nice touch on a hot day! (Plus scaling temples can be hard work - especially if you go to the top of each; steep stairs & moderate hiking are required) Angkor did not disappoint either, each temple had unique aspects that were great to experience and I can’t wait to go through all the pictures I took. Highly recommended.

A memorable visit to Angkor Wat

Our guide, Chun Nan, was wonderful. He provided a lot of information while on the tour, including providing a historical background of Angkor Wat, explaining the culture, pointing out fine details in the engravings and providing an overall understanding of the temple and history. He went out of his way to take creative photos of us at all of the “top” photo locations and even asked the tuktuk driver (who was wonderful as well, I unfortunately didn’t get his name) to take us to see the monkeys after we showed an interest! Our tuktuk driver made sure that we had cold water and a refreshing cold towel each time we returned to the tuktuk ???? We would definitely recommend this tour and company.
