Itinerary

The guide will pick up you at 8 am from your hotel and we will start this day with exploring the temples of UNESCO listed Angkor National Park, the World Heritage site and it's the World Largest Religious Monument. Pay the entrance fee on your own account at the ticket office where we will stop for you to buy one and make your way with the guide to the first stop at Angkor Wat to visit the largest and most impressive of all Angkor temples, considered among one of the 7th Wonders of the World.

Angkor Wat was built between 1113-1150 AD and dedicated to Vishnu, the Hindu god of preservation. It's the best preserved of all the temples. Its layout and its scale are simply breathtaking, the wall surrounding the enclosure measures 1,000 by 800 meters and the moat, said to represent the oceans of the world is 200 meters wide. Angkor Wat is an architectural allegory of the mythical Mount Meru in the center of the world (Himalaya). This amazing temple homes the longest continuous bas relief in the world, which runs along the outer gallery walls.

We also explore the Angkor Thom complex. Its vast walls, some 6m wide, 8m high and 13km in length contain many monuments. Inside the walls the king, his relatives and officials, military officers and priests took residence, the rest of the people lived outside of the great enclosure, between the two artificial lakes. Our visit will begin with the South Gate, a beautiful introduction to Angkor Thom with well-restored statues of Asuras (demons) and gods lining the bridge. Inside the complex, we will first visit the Bayon with 200 endless smiling faces. This temple mountain situated in the center of Angkor Thom City where sets the Bayon apart from many other Angkor monuments and we will continue to the Elephant Terrace, which owes its name to its outstanding depiction of these animals and the Terrace of Leper King, which presents a magnificent sculpture, popularly known as the leper king and then we continue the tour to Ta Phrom was a monastery built by the king Jayavarman VII as a residence for his mother as well as a school.

Ta Phrom has been controversially left to the destructive power of the jungle by French archaeologists to demonstrate the awesome power of nature. It has been largely consumed by the jungle and as you will climb through the dilapidated stone structures you will see many giant trees growing out of the top of the temple itself. At every turn you will expect to see Indiana Jones (Lara Croft) step out from behind a fallen pillar around you.

This tour concludes with return transfer to your hotel or any requested drop off point within the city center.

Great guide and driver (Nak and Sokkhen) for 3 day Angkor adventure!

Our Guide (Nak) and Driver (Sokkhen) were outstanding for the 3 days we had them and would highly recommend. Nak was a monk for 10 years before he became a tour guide so his insights were amazing on culture, history, & perspective. Nak picked the top temples to see in Angkor and added some local places as well. We did a boat ride and canoe ride on Tonle Sap Lake and saw a floating fishing village. Saw multigenerational stilt houses. Such a great look into every day Cambodian culture. Sokkhen took us everywhere and welcomed us back into the air conditioned van with cold waters and refreshing cold towels. Both made our busy days fun & informative!

Awesome experience with your guide Nak

We spent 3 full days with Nak as our tour guide. Especially loved the fact that prior to being a guide, he was a Buddhist monk for 10 years. He had extensive knowledge of Cambodian culture, as well as all the religious text and iconography from his studies. His English is also very good, and he was very friendly and welcoming, even taking us to his home town market to show us “a day in the life of a Cambodian”. Couldn’t recommend him enough, especially for those who will have lots of questions they’d like answered!

Amazing place, amazing guide

My wife and I did this memorable tour in mid-September. The weather cooperated (it was a bit overcast--not rainy and not too hot). Our day at the Angkor temples was just amazing thanks to our thoughtful, personable, and incredibly knowledgeable guide, Voath. His wealth of knowledge--about the history of the temples, the meaning of the various bas-reliefs adorning the walls, Cambodian culture, etc.--was exceptional (he should be teaching a class at the University!), as was his patience and kindness. A wonderful day with a brilliant and truly nice guy. We highly recommend this experience.

Fantastic experience exploring the Angkor Wat temples

We had a great day exploring three temples, Angkor Wat, Angkor Tom and Ta Prom. Our guide Sath and our driver Borey were fantastic and made our day very enjoyable.Sath provided great knowledge and insight to the history of these temples. The time spent at each was adequate, and a good break at a nice restaurant for lunch was perfect. Thanks Sath and Borey for a great experience, and for the restaurant tips for that evening. We ended up choosing Chanrey Tree which was excellent.

Temple Tours

Sophy was my tour guide for Angor Wat and the other temples. He was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. He even made sure to get good pictures since I toured alone. The driver Mr. Sim made sure to navigate us safely to each location. Would do a tour with them again!
