Itinerary

The guide will pick up you at 8 am from your hotel and we will start this day with exploring the temples of UNESCO listed Angkor National Park, the World Heritage site and it's the World Largest Religious Monument. Pay the entrance fee on your own account at the ticket office where we will stop for you to buy one and make your way with the guide to the first stop at Angkor Wat to visit the largest and most impressive of all Angkor temples, considered among one of the 7th Wonders of the World.

Angkor Wat was built between 1113-1150 AD and dedicated to Vishnu, the Hindu god of preservation. It's the best preserved of all the temples. Its layout and its scale are simply breathtaking, the wall surrounding the enclosure measures 1,000 by 800 meters and the moat, said to represent the oceans of the world is 200 meters wide. Angkor Wat is an architectural allegory of the mythical Mount Meru in the center of the world (Himalaya). This amazing temple homes the longest continuous bas relief in the world, which runs along the outer gallery walls.

We also explore the Angkor Thom complex. Its vast walls, some 6m wide, 8m high and 13km in length contain many monuments. Inside the walls the king, his relatives and officials, military officers and priests took residence, the rest of the people lived outside of the great enclosure, between the two artificial lakes. Our visit will begin with the South Gate, a beautiful introduction to Angkor Thom with well-restored statues of Asuras (demons) and gods lining the bridge. Inside the complex, we will first visit the Bayon with 200 endless smiling faces. This temple mountain situated in the center of Angkor Thom City where sets the Bayon apart from many other Angkor monuments and we will continue to the Elephant Terrace, which owes its name to its outstanding depiction of these animals and the Terrace of Leper King, which presents a magnificent sculpture, popularly known as the leper king and then we continue the tour to Ta Phrom was a monastery built by the king Jayavarman VII as a residence for his mother as well as a school.

Ta Phrom has been controversially left to the destructive power of the jungle by French archaeologists to demonstrate the awesome power of nature. It has been largely consumed by the jungle and as you will climb through the dilapidated stone structures you will see many giant trees growing out of the top of the temple itself. At every turn you will expect to see Indiana Jones (Lara Croft) step out from behind a fallen pillar around you.

This tour concludes with return transfer to your hotel or any requested drop off point within the city center.

A day visit in Angkor Wat

Mal was very knowledgeable about each of the temples we visited today. He was able to make the most of the one day I had in Cambodia to visit Angkor Wat as well as a couple of other temples and sites in the vast temple complex surrounding area. One day is not enough to visit the region, but I am happy with what I’ve learned and seen today thanks to his guidance. Nak added another level to understanding the architecture in part because he also studied as a Buddhist monk for many years.Highly recommend!

Amazing, wishing we had longer

We had a wonderful time and took so very many photos. Our guild and driver were very impressive both in the amount of information and capability. We are only in Cambodia for a few days so this was a whistle stop tour which loads packed in.

A truly feel good experience.

Ty Sath was an interesting personality... He was clear in communication, careful in planning, courteous in presentation and cheerful in demeanor. The Cambodian smile was as endearing as his tour guide banter. He could easily be a focal point for anything that a tourist would need guidance on....... right from the start of the planning for the entire Trip till one's flight takes off from the impressive Siem Reap International Airport.

Great experience!

Nak was super attentive and helpful! He is also very knowledgeable and explained a lot in detail! He helped my mum with the steep stairs and also suggested an easier route to go around Angkor Wat. The driver and Nak went above and beyond for our guided tour today!

Majestic must see

Had a great day out. The driver was friendly full of smiles and he could see I was hot and gave me a cold towel which was refreshing and Nak the guide had so much knowledge I enjoyed finding out about the history of Angkor Wat and actually hearing about Nak being a monk. There is a lot of walking and steep stairs just tell your guide if you need to rest or not do as much climbing.

Great experience in AngkorWat with Sophy and Mr Cheat.

The day was beautiful for a visit to Angkor Wat. We took a tuktuk driven by Mr. Cheat. And, our guide was Sophy. The tuktuk was very clean and cold towels and cold bottles of water were provided, both welcome relief as the day became hotter. Sophy our guide gave us informative lectures on the history of the temple and was very patient with us throughout the tour, especially taking photos and videos. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and we highly recommend both Sophy and Mr Cheat.

Don’t miss this amazing tour! Thanks Sophy!

I would strongly recommend this tour!! It’s an easy way to view Angkor Wat and two other temples as well. You get to skip the long walk (extra 3km) and drive right up to Angkor Wat in the tuk tuk. Our guide Sophy picked us up right on time and dropped us off back at our hotel after a great day of touring. Sophy made the day smooth and was very knowledgeable about the history of each temple. Any question we asked, he had an answer for and he was great company! Thank you Sophy for a lovely, memorable day!
