Itinerary

Meet a driver at your hotel in Siem Reap for the scenic, 2-hour trip to Phnom Kulen Mountain, passing a landscape of tropical forest and rural communities in your air-conditioned vehicle.

The first stop of the day is a hilltop temple, where you’ll find a massive reclining Buddha carved directly into a sandstone boulder. Next, head to the River of a Thousand Lingas, exploring a riverbank adorned with ancient carvings of phalluses and Hindu gods.

Cool off at another sacred site, Phnom Kulen Waterfalls, which tumble into a wide basin that’s ideal for a midday swim or wade. Throughout the day, the guide will help bring the ancient sites to life by explaining their significance and symbolism, and you’ll have time to purchase lunch at a local restaurant before the return trip to Siem Reap.

The other side of Siem Reap: Kulen Mountain day trip

This tour is really worth it! River of thousands lingas and Phnom Kulen National Park were amazing! Our guide Mr Lonh made the trip even more funny and interesting. He shared with us a lot of informations about Cambodia, culture and traditions and typical food! I'm recommending this tour and this tour guide! ????

Nice but could be made better

The tour guide was nice, was knowledgeable and spoke an excellent English. The tour was well organised and everything went smooth. The Phnom Kulen Waterfalls are really georgous and really worth the trip (see photo) and we really enjoyed swimming there. That being, we were a little surprised to be (strongly) encouraged to spend money on various things (buying fruits, giving money to children to keep our shoes while visiting the Reclining Buddha, rent of a safe box during the swimm at the Phnom Kulen Waterfalls) during the trip; nothing expensive (maybe 3 or 4 USD in total) but it would be much better to include these small costs in the tour price. Furthermore, it is generaly not recommended to give money to children (instead of adults, see the ChildSafe movement as well as the official guidelines to travelers in Angkor) so we were surprised that the tour did not apply these recommandations. Regarding the tour program we would suggest adding another visit in the area or along the way in the early afternoon, since the current program is only to drive back to Siem Reap after lunch. Overall the price felt a bit expensive (47 USD per person) since it didn't include the park fee (15 USD), the lunch (which was quite expensive compared to usual prices in Siem Reap) nor the above-mentionned strongly recommended small expenses. The tour description made clear that these costs were not included so it was no surprise but the overall cost remains high compared to other «everything included» day trips that we have experienced (in Vietnam for example). All in all, we had a nice day and we would recommend the trip, subject to the above-mentioned small improvements.

Great trip with a nice and humorous guide!

Nice and a well-organized trip. Our guide Vanlonh was knowledgeable and very funny. He offered us a lot of local specialties (like palm juice, tasty fruits and other snacks) so we had a chance to try different local foods. It was a nice experience. We really enjoyed the beauty of the nature and even had plenty of time to swim in the waterfall. Vanlonh took lots of great pictures of us. Also the restaurant on the way back was really good, the food was fantastic.

Good and enjoyable trip with Borain

Well organised group trip. Borain was helpful in giving directions and providing historical and religious background to our visit. He very kindly took pictures for us. We made some extra stops to see Palm sugar extraction which was good. Thank you!

Polite and fun guide.

Marin my guide for my visit to Phnom Kulen and reclining Buddha. He is a polite, patience and helpful guide. The downside may be to improve the English communication, but overall and in general, I am great to have him as my tour guide, thank you so much.

Phnom Kulen mountain day tour

A very nice excursion to visit the holy mountain of Phnom Kulen. They take you to several temples, one of them containing an incredible gigantic budha! Then you visit the river with the 1000 lingas and finally an amazing waterfall where you can have a great swim. But the best of the tour was our guide Sokvichet Chin. He explain to us every single detail about the temples. We learn a lot about Cambodian traditions, history and people. If you are in Siem Reap and you want to visit Phnom Kulen or Angkor he is you guy!!

Phnom Kulen Tour

Our tour guide was Phearom and driver was Paula. My friend and I had such a great time with them. Phearom’s English was easy to understand and had provided us great knowledge of Cambodia throughout the tour. Phearom and Paula are both very friendly and have a great sense of humour. We would definitely recommend them!
