Highlight of Cambodia

We hired a private driver and spent the whole day at this spectacular park. There were markets, street food stalls, beautiful temples, the incredible 1000 Lingas site, and the spectacular waterfall. It was also a great way to break up our days at Angkor.

The tour guide Mr. Phearom was a great tour guide that answered all of our questions about tonle sap and gave us a great insight to the village and culture.

Highly informative

Despite some early confusion with my name this turned out to be a great tour. Toneth was an outstanding guide, highly knowledgeable and a great communicator. His insights capped off a fascinating excursion to a truly remarkable community. The crocodiles were a surprise too.

Private tour to accommodate my own itinerary

My first trip with Green Era Travel was the group tour for Sunrise at Angkor Wat. Our guide, Sothea, was very energetic and had lots of knowledge on the temples, as well as good ideas for photos. I thought the price was very reasonable. However, be aware there can be some variation in prices, which the company explained has to do with high bank charges in Cambodia for online/credit card use. I enjoyed my trip so much that I wanted to book with them again. No companies seemed to include a visit to the Angkor Center for Conservation of Biodiversity (which is a great wildlife rescue/rehab worth visiting a supporting!). Green Era Travel set up a private day tour for me to include the ACCB as well as several other sites I wanted to see--a hike up Phnom Kulen to see the 1000 Lingas, Bantay Srei, the Landmine Museum (also worth a visit!), Bantay Samrei, and Pre Rup for sunset. I was impressed at how much we were able to get done in one day--so the splurge on a private tour was still a good deal. What really made it great was the guide, Van Lonh. He was so easy to talk to, not only about the sites visited, but about what it was like growing up in Cambodia. He has plenty of good jokes, and likes a good political discussion! I highly recommend him as a guide.Sticking with this reliable company--I'm doing the Tonle Sap tour tomorrow. Also be aware that it is very difficult to find the office, which is in a residential area. You're best bet is to call or email with questions.

This trip was great.. we spent time with the locals who lived in a jungle area and learned how they adjusted to the harsh conditions during the rainy season. Interacting with these people and touring in some remote areas, was a highlight of my trip. Our torn guide was awesome and so was our driver.

FULL ON DAY

Take snacks to eat in the tour van on your way to the next temple (no eating around the temples). I was the first of the group to get picked up at 8am and the last was picked up around 9:15am. Our tour guide was a bit hard to understand at times but was very helpful when you asked him questions on things you wanted to know. This tour didn't include lunch so we went to a local restaurant around 1pm (that's why you take snacks), you'll pay around $5-7 (US) for a meal and $3 for beers. Water is provided in the van, there is lots of freaky stair climbing! The temples, you really just need to see them yourself they are incredible! The day ended around 6pm and I was back at my hotel by 7. I left feeling as though I still needed to see more!

Knowledgeable, gracious and trustworthy guides

Our small group had the good fortune to tour with Vanlonh (Lonh). He’s a local from Siem Reap who spoke English clearly and was knowledgeable and could answer our questions. He also managed to find the right balance with us so we didn’t get “temple-d out.” He stepped up with framing views and snapping pics for us all day. His hard work to get licensed as a guide and dedication will be apparent to you too.
