Itinerary

The guide will pick up you at 8 am from your hotel and we will start this day with exploring the temples of UNESCO listed Angkor National Park, the World Heritage site and it's the World Largest Religious Monument. Pay the entrance fee on your own account at the ticket office where we will stop for you to buy one and make your way with the guide to the first stop at Angkor Wat to visit the largest and most impressive of all Angkor temples, considered among one of the 7th Wonders of the World.

Angkor Wat was built between 1113-1150 AD and dedicated to Vishnu, the Hindu god of preservation. It's the best preserved of all the temples. Its layout and its scale are simply breathtaking, the wall surrounding the enclosure measures 1,000 by 800 meters and the moat, said to represent the oceans of the world is 200 meters wide. Angkor Wat is an architectural allegory of the mythical Mount Meru in the center of the world (Himalaya). This amazing temple homes the longest continuous bas relief in the world, which runs along the outer gallery walls.

We also explore the Angkor Thom complex. Its vast walls, some 6m wide, 8m high and 13km in length contain many monuments. Inside the walls the king, his relatives and officials, military officers and priests took residence, the rest of the people lived outside of the great enclosure, between the two artificial lakes. Our visit will begin with the South Gate, a beautiful introduction to Angkor Thom with well-restored statues of Asuras (demons) and gods lining the bridge. Inside the complex, we will first visit the Bayon with 200 endless smiling faces. This temple mountain situated in the center of Angkor Thom City where sets the Bayon apart from many other Angkor monuments and we will continue to the Elephant Terrace, which owes its name to its outstanding depiction of these animals and the Terrace of Leper King, which presents a magnificent sculpture, popularly known as the leper king and then we continue the tour to Ta Phrom was a monastery built by the king Jayavarman VII as a residence for his mother as well as a school.

Ta Phrom has been controversially left to the destructive power of the jungle by French archaeologists to demonstrate the awesome power of nature. It has been largely consumed by the jungle and as you will climb through the dilapidated stone structures you will see many giant trees growing out of the top of the temple itself. At every turn you will expect to see Indiana Jones (Lara Croft) step out from behind a fallen pillar around you.

This tour concludes with return transfer to your hotel or any requested drop off point within the city center.

Amazing your - highly recommend.

Could not recommend this tour more! We were picked up by the amazing duo of Sath (tour guide) and mr sim (driver). From the get go, we were welcomed warmly and looked after throughout. The tour itself was beautiful and so fascinating. We saw 3 of the temples and were given detailed explanations of the history, as well as answering our questions The lunch stop was also lovely, in a local restaurant.

Great day at Angkor Wat

An amazing site, lots to see. The tuc tuc rides between temples were great for cooling down. Our guide Roem was great for pointing out the best photo opportunities. He also took lots for us, including loads on his own phone which he sent to us. Great day.

Experienced guide makes a difference

BunRong and his driver met us at our hotel in a comfortable tuktuk. In route to the Angkor Wat site he introduced himself and explained what we could expect to see. He has many years of experience as a guide and his English was more than good. He kept us interested in the history especially in explanation of the Wall carvings. He was very helpful, patient and informative and my wife and I would highly recommend him as a guide.

The best Angkor Wat Day Tour with Mr. San

We spent the day (8-2:30/3) visiting 3 sites (Angkor Wat, Bayon Temple, and Ta Prohm temple) with our tour guide, Mr. San. Mr. San was the absolute best! He was so knowledgeable about the history behind the temples, religions, and Khmer culture. I truly can’t imagine going to these sites without a guide. Mr. San was also very personable and always checked in with us to make sure we were getting what we wanted out of the trip. He also helped us get some great photos! If you’re going to Angkor Wat, you must request Mr. San! I can’t recommend him enough.

Great temple tour

Overall a great experience. Knowledgeable and friendly guide, would recommend Mr. San. Went above and beyond with cold towels and water between stops which was great on a hot day. Picked out a great local restaurant for us to stop at for lunch so we got a taste of good Cambodian food

Knowledgeable guide

We had an all day private tour with Mr Sara and his driver, Mr. Art. The tour covered all the main temples at Angkor Wat and more. Mr. Sara was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of Angkor Wat and Cambodia. We are inspired to read up more on the complex history based on his accounts.

Great Ankor Wat tour!!

My husband and I took a tour to Ankor Wat, our tourguide Sophy was excellent! He, together with the driver Sim, were amazing: super pubctual, always at the perfect place st the perfect time! We began waiting for the sunrise at Ankor Wat, Sophy chose us a great spot for really good pictures. After that, he took us through all the temples and explained everything clearly, and after each temple, Sim was waiting for us with cold water and cool, refreshing towels!! It was a great experience, would recommend and do again next time we visit!
