Itinerary

The guide will pick up you at 8 am from your hotel and we will start this day with exploring the temples of UNESCO listed Angkor National Park, the World Heritage site and it's the World Largest Religious Monument. Pay the entrance fee on your own account at the ticket office where we will stop for you to buy one and make your way with the guide to the first stop at Angkor Wat to visit the largest and most impressive of all Angkor temples, considered among one of the 7th Wonders of the World.

Angkor Wat was built between 1113-1150 AD and dedicated to Vishnu, the Hindu god of preservation. It's the best preserved of all the temples. Its layout and its scale are simply breathtaking, the wall surrounding the enclosure measures 1,000 by 800 meters and the moat, said to represent the oceans of the world is 200 meters wide. Angkor Wat is an architectural allegory of the mythical Mount Meru in the center of the world (Himalaya). This amazing temple homes the longest continuous bas relief in the world, which runs along the outer gallery walls.

We also explore the Angkor Thom complex. Its vast walls, some 6m wide, 8m high and 13km in length contain many monuments. Inside the walls the king, his relatives and officials, military officers and priests took residence, the rest of the people lived outside of the great enclosure, between the two artificial lakes. Our visit will begin with the South Gate, a beautiful introduction to Angkor Thom with well-restored statues of Asuras (demons) and gods lining the bridge. Inside the complex, we will first visit the Bayon with 200 endless smiling faces. This temple mountain situated in the center of Angkor Thom City where sets the Bayon apart from many other Angkor monuments and we will continue to the Elephant Terrace, which owes its name to its outstanding depiction of these animals and the Terrace of Leper King, which presents a magnificent sculpture, popularly known as the leper king and then we continue the tour to Ta Phrom was a monastery built by the king Jayavarman VII as a residence for his mother as well as a school.

Ta Phrom has been controversially left to the destructive power of the jungle by French archaeologists to demonstrate the awesome power of nature. It has been largely consumed by the jungle and as you will climb through the dilapidated stone structures you will see many giant trees growing out of the top of the temple itself. At every turn you will expect to see Indiana Jones (Lara Croft) step out from behind a fallen pillar around you.

This tour concludes with return transfer to your hotel or any requested drop off point within the city center.

History, comfort and the best photos included!

We had a private tour of Angkor Wat with our guide San and our Tuktuk driver Phal and it was just perfect all around. Both were incredibly friendly, attentive and very accommodating. After each stop, cold, damp cloths and fresh water were already waiting for us at the Tuktuk, which was really worth gold in the heat. Thank you Phal! San impressed us with his enormous knowledge of the temples, history and culture. He took a lot of time to answer all our questions in detail and you could see how passionate he is about his job. I can't believe he always knew the best photo spots and took beautiful pictures of us and the temple landscape! Phal drove us safely and comfortably from temple to temple and was also always helpful and welcoming. We would book this tour again at any time and can recommend San and Phal heartily. A real highlight of our Cambodia trip.

A great guided tour of one of the world‘s great sights

We don’t normally go on guided tours but we are so glad we took this one! Sophy was an excellent guide providing us with context for these incredibly complex temples and their history. It really was one of the best days out . Cold water and cool flannels were provided after each hot walkabout and we were driven with skill and style by the superb Mrs Channy. Don’t hesitate to book for the trip of a lifetime

Great private tour for a great experience

We would highly recommend this tour. We picked a 7am start time, and the earlier the better to beat the crowds and the heat. Our guide, San, was very knowledgeable and could answer every question we had. He is also a great photographer and will ensure you get the best pictures from the best spots. He picked us up right on time from our hotel and we had a fun tuk-tuk ride to Angkor Wat, and were able to also take the tuk-tuk between each of the temples. He also kept us supplied with cold water and towels in between temples. The price was great for a private tour and was well worth it.

Magical experience of the Wats/Temples of Siam Reap

Although the sky was not clear and we couldn’t see the actual sunrise, the experience was still very special. As the morning light slowly appeared, we listened to the wildlife waking up around Angkor Wat. We visited numerous of other magical temples with our guide Bunrong who was generous, joyful and friendly.

Great guided tour from Bunrong

We had an amazing guided tour from Bunrong! He was so kind, funny, and very knowledgeable about all the sites we saw. He also spoke English amazingly well and was very easy to understand throughout the tour. We went for sunrise and he guided us to the best spot to watch. Then we walked around Angkor Wat and various nearby temples, where we learned a ton about the sites from Bunrong. We were given ample water and stopped for lunch toward the end of the tour. The tuktuk was also very comfortable. Highly recommend!

Amazing Angkor Wat tour with Bunrong

We had a fantastic time touring Angkor Wat with Bunrong! While the 4:30 AM wake up time might seem crazy, it’s worth it to get a good spot to see the sunrise over the temple. Bunrong was an excellent guide, providing tons of historical and cultural context. He has a fantastic sense of humor and is overall a great hang. We wouldn’t have been able to make anywhere near as much sense of the frankly overwhelming temple complex without him. I particularly enjoyed his descriptions of the highly detailed mythical and quotidian scenes depicted at Angkor Wat and Bayon. Cold water and towels at the tuk tuk cooled us down, and we also took a welcome lunch break at a restaurant. Highly recommend taking a tour with Bunrong!

Visiting from the US! I had an awesome one day trip to Angkor Wat with my tour guide Vireak! He Speak English fluently! Very knowledgeable with history with Angkor Wat! He explains every little details and gave goosebumps while telling me the story of everything! I’ve learned so much about the religions and ancient histories of Angkor Wat! Also took me to find really good local restaurant that serves traditional delicious food. I can’t wait to come back and bring family and friends. I will definitely hire Vireak again!
