Itinerary

Begin your adventure with pickup from your Siem Reap hotel for the roughly 45-minute journey to Kompong Phluk. Depending on the season, you’ll travel by minibus (February to July) or by minibus and boat (August to January). Transfer to a small boat and set sail along the lake, passing stilted houses and schools, floating markets, pagodas, and fishing boats as your guide tells you more about local life, customs, and traditions.

Wet-season visitors can also opt to enjoy a traditional canoe ride around the flooded forests (for an additional expense) and experience the region’s unique ecosystem as you glide between the semi-submerged trees.

Back in Siem Reap, your tour ends with a drop-off at your hotel.

Excellent tour and even more excellent tour guide! Book with Vichet!!

This tour was simply amazing and a Cambodia must, but when you book ask for Chet! The tour consists of a vehicle picking you up from your hotel then Went to visit a fishing village by boat, stopping to walk through the fishing village, visiting the local village schools (great experience that seemed to be missed on other tours), stopped at a restaurant for a canoe ride through the man groves and then back to the hotel. You’re given an option of being dropped off at the old market or pub street if you’d like which was an added bonus. What made this tour so exceptional was Vichet (Chet) our tour guide he gave us historical insight and current insight on many things we passed along the way, he was very friendly, knowledgeable, and a very excellent picture taker! He took the tour to another level. One of my top tours ever. Highly recommend this tour and Chet. Thanks again!

Fantastica esperienza

San an excellent tour guide for Kampong Phluk and Tonle Sap Lake

We did the half day tour of Kampong Phluk and Tonle Sap Lake and had an enjoyable morning. The trip provided a unique insight into the flooded village and how drastically the water levels change over the seasons. Our tour guide, San, was wonderful, supportive and informative and helped make the day enjoyable and insightful.

Kinda a good ! But not the best tour I have been honestly

The tour was good ! The van was comfortable. They picked us up from the hotel Wouldn’t say is the best tour we had You get on a boat and they take you to the village. That’s about it ! When you get there there is spot where you can chose to get on a traditional vietunamese with boat with a local woman or CHILD ! The charge is 5 dolars and they will stop half way where there is spot of locals people selling bananas , sweets ( Tourist Trap Alert) Some child or women will say “buy your poor driver a bunch of bananas “ The bananas probably cost around 2 -3 dolars . We didn’t buy and the women that drove us wasn’t exactly pleased! Started saying things in her language ... possibly swearing lol , hey ho !!! I would buy for a child if I felt they needed but I saw one saying “give a dolar Sir so I can go to school “ I personally don’t support child labour and the children get motivated not to go to school if you give them money. The kids take the bananas back to the seller anyway as I saw later that day ! Last about 15 mins for her to paddle around some trees .

Great guide for a very interesting excursion

Our guide, Marin, was pleasant, knowledgeable, and fun. We loved him! We really enjoyed the trip to the floating villages, the canoe tour through the mangroves, and the excursion out on Tonle Sap Lake.

Great half day with our guide Phearom!

I was hesitant on booking a tour to Tonle Sap because others have mentioned that the area was a scam. I took the leap and booked this particular group because of the higher ratings and I am glad I did. Our tour guide Phearom.was great. The floating villages was a sight to see. It's amazing how they live on water. I recommend paying the extra $5 to do the mangrove canoe ride. It's a cool experience. Yes, expect that you will make a stop at the floating markets and the ladies will pressure you to buy something. You don't have to. They will push you to buy a drink, then bananas for the monkeys then tell you to buy a coloring book for the children. Just keep saying no if you don't want to buy anything. They will eventually just paddle away. This is where I think most people will feel scammed if you don't go into it with the mindset that it is ok to say no! I did give the little girl in my canoe an extra tip for being adorable. Yes, I fell into the trap of the kids but it's only a couple of bucks. Highly recommend this tour.

Fantastic

A brilliant tour with a brilliant guide. San was excellent and provided all the information we need to have a great day. Worth noting that it says lunch is not included which it isn't but you are taken to a restaurant anyway so you are obliged to have lunch. That said though the lunch was fantastic. Tasty and relatively cheap. I have no problem with recommending this trip. You will love it. Save some dollars to buy books for the local school too oh and a tip for San because he"s worth it!
