Itinerary

Begin your adventure with pickup from your Siem Reap hotel for the roughly 45-minute journey to Kompong Phluk. Depending on the season, you’ll travel by minibus (February to July) or by minibus and boat (August to January). Transfer to a small boat and set sail along the lake, passing stilted houses and schools, floating markets, pagodas, and fishing boats as your guide tells you more about local life, customs, and traditions.

Wet-season visitors can also opt to enjoy a traditional canoe ride around the flooded forests (for an additional expense) and experience the region’s unique ecosystem as you glide between the semi-submerged trees.

Back in Siem Reap, your tour ends with a drop-off at your hotel.

My friend and I went on this tour on the 25th of December. San was a wonderful guide. He picked us up at our hotel and was really friendly. When telling us the history of Cambodia or of the area, he made sure we understood and answered any questions we may have had. On our boat ride through the fishing vilage, we got to visit the temple and saw the schools that had been set up there. The students were so eager to learn and did not shy away from having a conversation with us! The ride through the mangroves was relaxing. We had a lady who quietly sang as she took us through the trees, it was beautiful. Then we got to see a crocodile farm and San took fun pictures of us with a panoramic view of the area in the background. We had a great time and experience! Not only was San funny and friendly, the driver was as well. We also did stop for lunch afterwards at this beautiful restuarant but was not able to eat because the other two friends who were part of our tour group had a reservation back in town so, we decided to head back to Siem Reap. P.S. We went during the dry season so the river wasn't as full as it would be in the wet season but I would still recommend this tour.

Good half day trip

Great half day trip to experience the life of the villagers. The guide was good and informative. We went on the boat which was great as it gave a different view of their daily activities and life which is largely reliant on the lake.

A must trip

I’ve wanted to go see the floating villages with my son and see another way of life. I could not explain the area, history or culture as well as Vichet. My 11 year old son was intrigued and attentive to the entire time. I do not suggest going it alone or you will miss out. Vichet spoke clearly and with poise. He took the time to answer all my questions and appeals to children. Thank you Vichet for making this trip more memorable

Se respira paz

Parece mentira que en unas condiciones tan adversas para el ser humano. Se tiene una sensación de paz que es alterada por el propio turista.

Half Day Kompong Phluk tour

Went on an interesting tour of Kompong Phluk - a floating village on Tonle Sap Lake. Truly a place worth visiting as it is such a unique way of life and to see how the village functions on a daily basis. We didn't feel it was too much of a tourist trap - we got asked once to buy books for children but otherwise the village residents largely ignored us, which was nice. You get the opportunity to visit the village Pagoda and also to go on a paddle boat through the Mangroves. Sen was a fab tour guide, very informative and friendly. Tour lasted 0830-1400.

Fantastic guide and what a scenery

Picked up precisely on time from our hotel and headed soon after to the boat. During the trip Mr San told enthusiastic about Cambodia and it’s history. He was very good in answering all questions. Everywhere we went we felt safe and in good hands. He even gave us extra time on Tonle Sap Lake, so we could enjoy beautiful sunset. I will recommend this trip and guide to everyone.

Excellent Tour and Top Notch Guide

We booked the half day Kampong Phuk and Tomne Lake tour prior to joining our G adventures tour the next day. Pick up right at our hotel and a very interesting and enjoyable tour with drop off back at the end. Our guide, Seila, could not do enough for us and made sure we were happy, well hydrated and had everything we needed for the trip. His local knowledge was excellent and was willing and able to answer any question from our small group. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to see something other than temples while they are in Siem Reap. Just a note, however, that the tour does stop at one temple.....
