Itinerary

Begin your adventure with pickup from your Siem Reap hotel for the roughly 45-minute journey to Kompong Phluk. Depending on the season, you’ll travel by minibus (February to July) or by minibus and boat (August to January). Transfer to a small boat and set sail along the lake, passing stilted houses and schools, floating markets, pagodas, and fishing boats as your guide tells you more about local life, customs, and traditions.

Wet-season visitors can also opt to enjoy a traditional canoe ride around the flooded forests (for an additional expense) and experience the region’s unique ecosystem as you glide between the semi-submerged trees.

Back in Siem Reap, your tour ends with a drop-off at your hotel.

Excellent morning trip

I booked last minute a morning tour, and was pick-ed up exactly at 8.00 Am at the hotel. José was my tour guide, and I was the only person on the tour. First we stopped at a local market, then we drove to the small boat that took me to the floating village. José was a real brilliant guide, talking with passion about Cambodian lifestyle, answering every question and giving me deeper insight in Cambodia's culture. This young man was so helpful and thoughtful helping me in & out of the boats, climbing up muddy hills , translating my questions to local people. This tour was exactly what I was hoping for, even much more and the service was excellent. Thank you José for this remarkable trip and if asked, I would strongly recommend this company and tour.

1/2 day (morning)

My wife and me have taken many small group tours in many different countries, this was special !! Our guide NAK was one of the reasons that made it special, he was personal with the culture not technical. You will be rewarded with a life long memories if he is your guide.

Floating village/ local market

This is the second time I have done this trip and loved it It’s a fantastic way to meet the local people and see how they live. At the local market we got to see lots of the unusual produce and meet the locals, everyone was so welcoming and not hassling you to buy things,( the local market is a must see ) then the trip down the river to the floating village again is really worth seeing’ I had taken along small bags that I filled with sweets and pencils etc ( small gifts ) for the children and wow that was an experience and so well worth doing, there was so many beautiful children queuing up to receive a small gift ... the trip is so well organized and our tour guide again was so helpful and knowledgeable.

Buena opcion

BEST DAY EVER!

I’ve booked this trip a bit randomly online, but actually I couldn’t be happier of my choice. Nak took us to the local market, then on a cruise thru the floating village but the best part ever was visiting the village and the school. It was so touching and I will be forever grateful to Nak for allowing us to get close to the reality of these people. It was really emotional and real most of all. Thank you again Nak!

Nice half day

It was definitely worth the trip just to see the village on stilts as well as the beautiful lake. Nak was a very pleasant, helpful and informative guide. He also took us around an interesting market en route to the boat trip. The only negative was some crocodiles being kept in some very cramped conditions at the turning point for the tourist boats. Pick up was at 8 and drop off around 12 which worked well for me as i was flying later that afternoon.

absolutely impressive tour!

Me and my wife did this tour with our tour guide Nak in a small group of 9 people. We visited a local market, Kompong Phluk (floating village) and Tonle-Sap-Lake where we did drink something on a swimming restaurant. Then we went back to Komong Phluk and walked through the village. It was absolutely amazing to see how the people there live. We bought some books and pens (school materials) and gave it to the children. They were so happy. It was hard to see how poor they are. They are living their lives with almost nothing. To make them a joy and see their smile was absolutely great to see. Nak told us a lot of interesting things about everything! He told it from his heart, was really cheerfull and so happy! He did a great job! Furthermore, we always get fresh cold water from the bus driver. So the service was great as well! It was one of the best and most impressive tours we ever did! We really recommend this tour and especially Nak as tour guide!!! Thanks a lot!!!

A must do tour!

Excellent way to get a peek at authentic Cambodian way of life on the lake. Nak was a wonderful guide with insider knowledge of Kompong Phluk. Very friendly and helpful, offering explanations for many aspects of life in the floating village. We had an afternoon packed with various activities including a minibus ride outside the city, boat ride through the floating village, a stop at a floating restaurant and walking tour through the village. So glad I booked this tour!
