Itinerary

Begin your adventure with pickup from your Siem Reap hotel for the roughly 45-minute journey to Kompong Phluk. Depending on the season, you’ll travel by minibus (February to July) or by minibus and boat (August to January). Transfer to a small boat and set sail along the lake, passing stilted houses and schools, floating markets, pagodas, and fishing boats as your guide tells you more about local life, customs, and traditions.

Wet-season visitors can also opt to enjoy a traditional canoe ride around the flooded forests (for an additional expense) and experience the region’s unique ecosystem as you glide between the semi-submerged trees.

Back in Siem Reap, your tour ends with a drop-off at your hotel.

Beeindruckende Tour

Impressive and decent

I can strongly recpmmend this tour! We had quite a good guide: Nak. First he took us to a local market. Usually I'd say that it's quite embarrassing walking around in a group, taking photos. In this case it wasn't. It was our guide's hometown, he knew the people and managed the visit in an appropriate way. Later on we went on a boat taking us along the houses on stilts then out onto the lake with a stop at a floating restaurant. The way back thru the village was done in our minivan. There we didn't have contact to the people ( which I think is good). However we could take pictures from the picturesque stilted houses. At a checkpoint the guide paid an entrance fee (2$ each for the community) which is fair, I think. Of course everything depends on the weather and on the water level of stone sap. We were lucky with that...

Great Tour

We had a lovely afternoon out on this tour. Our tour guide Nak was fantastic, he was incredibly helpful and and informative and also a good laugh. Thank you Nak! Also the tour itself was very interesting, it's a wonderful insight into another side of Siem Reap and the views on the lake were amazing. Also the flooded forest was great to see - would highly recommend.

Authentic trip to Tonle Sap Lake - very recommendable if you want to learn about modern day Cambodia

Great tour by Nak (tour leader) and Channa (driver) to the Tonle Sap Lake. Ideal if you want to get an impression of Cambodia nowadays combined with a river/lake cruise next to Angkor Wat visit (ancient history). The tour leader is super knowledgeable and makes it a lively trip leafing you through ancient and new history of Cambodia and showing you how life is at the waterfront of the lake. Five star!

Love Cambodia - Kingdom of wonder. Thank you Nak, we'll never forget you.
