Enter by the monumental South Gate (over a causeway lined on either side by statues of demons and gods, each carrying a giant Naga) to visit Bayon Temple and continue to the Terrace of the Elephants, and then we continue to visit Ta Phrom - it has been controversially left to the destructive power of the jungle by French archaeologists to demonstrate the awesome power of nature.

Delighted in Siem Reap

What a fantastic three days we have had touring the temples near Siem Reap and visiting the Tonle Sap lake, organised for us by Green Era Travel. It was difficult to select a guide from the UK but we couldn't have asked for a better service. Mr Sopheap was our reliable and careful driver in a very comfortable air-conditioned car and supplied us with regular cold towels and bottles of cold water. Mr Mop Vireak was our great guide who showed a passion and deep knowledge not only about the temples but regarding all the history and culture of Cambodia. He is also an expert photographer! They were a great team and very good company to be with for the three days.

Profound

We had the awesome privilege of having Sophat as our guide for the four days spent in Siem Reap. Of all the guides we had over the three weeks travelling through Vietnam and Cambodia, and while all our guides were fantastic, Sophat was exceptional in his sharing with us, from his unquestionably knowledge of current and past Cambodian culture, making this section of our tour so much more enriched. Freely shared, often without any prompt, there is absolutely no way we could ever look at another Cambodian structure or witness another Cambodian lifestyle, without experiencing a profoundness and depth of the culture within which we were emersed, were it not for Sophat.

3 day Angkor Wat made exceptional by our outstanding guide Voath

Angkor Wat is breathtaking in itself, but what truly elevated our visit was having an excellent private guide: Voath. The itinerary was perfectly paced over several days, combining the major highlights with quieter temples such as Banteay Srei and Banteay Samre, as well as a visit to the floating villages, which added an authentic and very different perspective on life around the Tonlé Sap. Voath’s deep historical knowledge, clear explanations, and excellent sense for timing made a huge difference – we never felt rushed, yet experienced everything in a thoughtful and relaxed way. Beyond facts and dates, Voath brought Angkor’s history, symbolism, and cultural context to life, turning each visit into a meaningful experience rather than simple sightseeing. Everything was smoothly organized, and despite the scale of Angkor, the experience felt calm and personal throughout. If you want to truly understand and appreciate Angkor Wat and its wider cultural setting, I can highly recommend Voath.

Treated like family. Amazing. Just book it/

Wow, I could write a lengthy book report for my review. Vireak Mok and this 3 day tour has been the highlight of our 3 week trip across 4 countries. On our 4th day after the tour was finished, my wife and I rode on a TUK back through Angkor Wat. Because of our guide knowledge we could understand carvings and building techniques on our own. But…..we were really missing Vireak. As luck would have it, coming out one of the gates, I saw him with another group. I jumped from the Tuk Tuk and we gave each other a hug. So excited to see him again. My wife and I will greatly miss his him. I’m sure all guides for this company are amazing but I’d request Vireak Mok

Grand introduction to ancient temples and modern village life

Truly Excellent bundle of tours! We started with sunrise over Angkor Wat, toured that and surrounding temples for 2 days, and on the third we visited a fishing village (on stilts to stay dry during the rainy season), village market, and local cashew industry. The restaurants were excellent, our guide Sorphea's English was outstanding, and he was extremely knowledgeable and personable. He identified and discussed many temple carvings that depicted figures and stories from the Ramayana and Mahabharata. He also explained the significance of the Apsara dance moves engraved on a temple pillar, fascinating! He and his driver, Sopheap, made a great team, attending to both our curiosity and our comfort, supplying cold water and cold damp towels regularly. We were sorry to leave!

Ankor Wat

Outstanding experience. The guide, Sorphea was extremely knowledgeable and seems to know the history and culture inside out. He brought the ancient sites to life, as well as the contemporary history of the area. The driver, Sopheap, got us everywhere safely and on time. He had a vonstant supply of cold water and cooling towels, particularly welcome in the heat
