Excellent one-day tour

This was an excellent one-day tour of arguably the three most famous temples in the Angkor complex - Angkor Wat, Ta Prohm, and Angkor Thom/Bayon Temple. Our guide, Chau ‘San’ Touchsan, and his driver, ‘Ken’, were very nice and personable. San contacted us the day before the tour to confirm the pickup time at our hotel. They were there at that time. As there were no others in the group that day, the tour turned into a private tour. San used the time to drive to the official Angkor ticket agency to introduce himself and Ken. They have had, to say the least, very interesting and demanding lives having lived through the Khmer Rouge era of Cambodia. San had subsequently studied Angkor history under a history professor at the local university and it was quite evident throughout the tour as he explained the history behind the various temples and relics that remain. He also served as an excellent photographer to snap photos of us at many of the ‘standard’ photo spots and many others that he had personally discovered on his previous tours. Both San and Ken were very flexible in adapting the tour to our needs and at the end of the day were very appreciative that we had visited their country. We would definitely recommend this specific tour and specifically San and Ken as your hosts!

Beautiful Piece of History

ak was our tour guide and he was amazing and funny. He gave a whole background/brief history for those that didn’t know too much about Angkor Wat and the different temples. The lunch was amazing at a small local Cambodian restaurant. There was even enough time to take many photos and videos throughout the tour. Nak was the best photographer! He knew all the angles. Water was offered to us before and after every temple visit as it was so hot and humid. The pick up and drop off at the hotel was so helpful and there was amazing communication throughout the days leading up to the visit.

Exceptional

Nak “handsome man” was amazing! He was able to communicate well in English and is very knowledgeable! He worked well with the members of the community in which we interacted, assisted in directing the flow of our group, and kept an exceptionally positive attitude throughout!

Awesome tour guide & service

All around good service. I was picked up in a Lexus which made the whole tour much more comfortable. I came in April so the weather is very hot. Good thing for me, they provided a lot of free iced water which was much needed. My tour guide was Phy. He is very knowledgeable in explaining the conflicts between Hindus and Buddhists. His English standard is good as well, so I had a good time conversing with him about any questions I’ve had. We visited 3 temples and if you love temples and ancient relics, this is the place for you! The hot air balloon ride was okay, perhaps I expected too much. It stays stationary horizontally and moves up vertically to about 100 metres high.

Great visit to an awesome world heritage site!

Our first time visit to Angkor Wat was very special thanks to our wonderful guide, Phy and the driver, Sim. Phy’s vast knowledge in the historical facts of the temples made this trip a lot more interesting. And the lunch place they took us to was exceptional and cool inside the AC controlled building by Angkor Thome. Phy’s photo taking skill set is awesome as well. Cambodians should be very proud of their heritage and of being the descendants of such vast and wonderful historic empires. ????????
