Itinerary

The guide will pick up you at 8 am from your hotel and we will start this day with exploring the temples of UNESCO listed Angkor National Park, the World Heritage site and it's the World Largest Religious Monument. Pay the entrance fee on your own account at the ticket office where we will stop for you to buy one and make your way with the guide to the first stop at Angkor Wat to visit the largest and most impressive of all Angkor temples, considered among one of the 7th Wonders of the World.

Angkor Wat was built between 1113-1150 AD and dedicated to Vishnu, the Hindu god of preservation. It's the best preserved of all the temples. Its layout and its scale are simply breathtaking, the wall surrounding the enclosure measures 1,000 by 800 meters and the moat, said to represent the oceans of the world is 200 meters wide. Angkor Wat is an architectural allegory of the mythical Mount Meru in the center of the world (Himalaya). This amazing temple homes the longest continuous bas relief in the world, which runs along the outer gallery walls.

We also explore the Angkor Thom complex. Its vast walls, some 6m wide, 8m high and 13km in length contain many monuments. Inside the walls the king, his relatives and officials, military officers and priests took residence, the rest of the people lived outside of the great enclosure, between the two artificial lakes. Our visit will begin with the South Gate, a beautiful introduction to Angkor Thom with well-restored statues of Asuras (demons) and gods lining the bridge. Inside the complex, we will first visit the Bayon with 200 endless smiling faces. This temple mountain situated in the center of Angkor Thom City where sets the Bayon apart from many other Angkor monuments and we will continue to the Elephant Terrace, which owes its name to its outstanding depiction of these animals and the Terrace of Leper King, which presents a magnificent sculpture, popularly known as the leper king and then we continue the tour to Ta Phrom was a monastery built by the king Jayavarman VII as a residence for his mother as well as a school.

Ta Phrom has been controversially left to the destructive power of the jungle by French archaeologists to demonstrate the awesome power of nature. It has been largely consumed by the jungle and as you will climb through the dilapidated stone structures you will see many giant trees growing out of the top of the temple itself. At every turn you will expect to see Indiana Jones (Lara Croft) step out from behind a fallen pillar around you.

This tour concludes with return transfer to your hotel or any requested drop off point within the city center.

Great tour. Highly Recommended

The visit was about 6 hrs, including a break for lunch. Tak and the tuc tuc driver were excellent. Tak spoke perfect English and was not only knowledgeable but also funny and polite. He gave us a lot of historical information and other information about Cambodian people and customs. We visited 3 temples. Each unique and spectacular in its own way.

Excellent Experience!

Great tour, definitely worth getting a guide. Naka was fantastic, he spoke excellent English, knew everything there was to know about the temple and had a true passion for the history. The tuk tuk was also premium compared to others that we have used. 5-stars for sure.

Incredible experience with Sorphea

Sorphea was not only an amazing guide for Angkor wat but he educated my two daughters and I on Cambodia’s modern day history. He took care of my daughters aged 8 and 7, so I recommend him for travelers with families as well as those interested in Cambodian culture and history

Angkor Wat with NAK AND PHEAP - a five star tour!

Wonderful tour with Nak and Pheap! Super knowledgeable and personable. They made our day fantastic, with a tour that was fun, stress-free and very informative! Loved all the cool facts and hidden history, and our driver kept the van cool with AC pumping and cold towels between each stop - and absolute life saver in the heat. Can't recommend them enough! Make sure you get this star team for a great tour!

Day trip temples Angkor

We had a great trip to Angkor, especially by our guide Nak. Enthusiastic and driven, he told about the history of the temples, and the faith. Not to mention his humor. Overall a super fun and educational day. We can definitely recommend Nak.

Recommended tour - see Angkor in comfort!

Amazing sites, so hot and humid though despite the rainy season just ended. So glad we did this tour with the comfort of private AC car, driver provided cold face towel and cold bottled water with each temple’s visit - what a big relief from the heat. Chandra, our tour guide was good in providing info though he tended to repeat; he was great in answering our questions! We finished the temples tour by 3:30; we decided not to go to the mountain to see the sunset - the heat made us too tired! Best to wake up early, see the sunset then the temples.

Amazing Guide

Our guide was amazing and should be given a raise a very kind man with so much knowledge, he showed us around so many of the temples in Angkor wat and knew so much about each one. I feel like a historian now.

Ankor Wat Tour

First and foremost, I rated this tour excellent because of our tour guide Mr Soy Dy (he liked us to call him D). He had exceptional knowledge about all the temples we visited. He also became like a personal photographer and if at all possible would get the shot we couldn’t. This man deserves a raise he is an exemplary employee and a credit to the company. To complement him he had a driver who was also very attentive and provided us with cold water and cold menthol towels on our return to the vehicle after visiting each temple. I could not recommend Dy or this company more highly. This tour was an excellent introduction to Cambodia it’s history and Angkor Wat.
