Itinerary

The guide will pick up you at 8 am from your hotel and we will start this day with exploring the temples of UNESCO listed Angkor National Park, the World Heritage site and it's the World Largest Religious Monument. Pay the entrance fee on your own account at the ticket office where we will stop for you to buy one and make your way with the guide to the first stop at Angkor Wat to visit the largest and most impressive of all Angkor temples, considered among one of the 7th Wonders of the World.

Angkor Wat was built between 1113-1150 AD and dedicated to Vishnu, the Hindu god of preservation. It's the best preserved of all the temples. Its layout and its scale are simply breathtaking, the wall surrounding the enclosure measures 1,000 by 800 meters and the moat, said to represent the oceans of the world is 200 meters wide. Angkor Wat is an architectural allegory of the mythical Mount Meru in the center of the world (Himalaya). This amazing temple homes the longest continuous bas relief in the world, which runs along the outer gallery walls.

We also explore the Angkor Thom complex. Its vast walls, some 6m wide, 8m high and 13km in length contain many monuments. Inside the walls the king, his relatives and officials, military officers and priests took residence, the rest of the people lived outside of the great enclosure, between the two artificial lakes. Our visit will begin with the South Gate, a beautiful introduction to Angkor Thom with well-restored statues of Asuras (demons) and gods lining the bridge. Inside the complex, we will first visit the Bayon with 200 endless smiling faces. This temple mountain situated in the center of Angkor Thom City where sets the Bayon apart from many other Angkor monuments and we will continue to the Elephant Terrace, which owes its name to its outstanding depiction of these animals and the Terrace of Leper King, which presents a magnificent sculpture, popularly known as the leper king and then we continue the tour to Ta Phrom was a monastery built by the king Jayavarman VII as a residence for his mother as well as a school.

Ta Phrom has been controversially left to the destructive power of the jungle by French archaeologists to demonstrate the awesome power of nature. It has been largely consumed by the jungle and as you will climb through the dilapidated stone structures you will see many giant trees growing out of the top of the temple itself. At every turn you will expect to see Indiana Jones (Lara Croft) step out from behind a fallen pillar around you.

This tour concludes with return transfer to your hotel or any requested drop off point within the city center.

Great full day at Angkor park

We did a full day tour of Angkor small circle as the first of three days in Siem Reap. Nak was an engaged tour guide who could answer all our questions and tell wonderful stories from Hindu and Buddhist legend. He also had a great memory for dates and names. We can't wait to come back for more tomorrow.

Great private tour experience with guide Nak

Our tour guide Nak was very experienced and friendly. He spent time explaining the history of the kingdom before we arrived at the temples, and he even knows the best spot to take photos. He is very good with photos too! Good spoken English, very happy with his service. Very comfortable minivan ride too, complete with cooled bottles of water. Highly recommended.

Great Experience

Had a great experience on this tour! The temples are incredible. Our guide, Nak, was very knowledgeable and friendly. He shared lots of really interesting bits from the 900 year history of the temples. Would definitely recommend this tour as an easy, informative, and affordable way to explore Angkor Wat.

A+ Private Tour

Great private tour for our family. The van was clean, comfortable, and cooled with A/C. Our tour guide Voath and his driver were an A+ team. Voath's knowledge of the temples and Khmer history and culture really enhanced the tour. Voath was also an excellent photographer helping us to capture several great pictures. Would definitely recommend this tour if you want to see the major temples in Siem Reap.

Great private tour of Angkor Watt

We had a wonderful day with Voath today. He was friendly and very knowledgeable. He was attentive and let us set our own pace and prioritize the temples we wanted to see. He also picked a delicious place for us to have lunch. We highly recommend requesting him as your tour guide while in Siem Reap!

Fantastic Tour! Fantastic Guide.

My guide Phuy Phy was incredible! He had so much information! I was fascinated by what he told me. I had developed some mobility issues and he was very patient and helpful. He helped me navigate the difficult areas as well as he became my cameraman and took amazing pictures and videos for me. Angkor Wat was incredible and he took me to see another temple also. He suggested good places to get quality souvenirs. His knowledge made the places come alive. I consider myself fortunate to have gotten him as my guide, Visitors to this city need to take this tour!

ANGKOR WAT WITH THE WONDERFUL NAK

My wife, our 25-y-o son and I had a wonderful experience with our tour with Nak. He is very enthusiastic (I would say passionate) about the temples. He knows an amazing amount, and provided pictorial history and maps to the various sites. He was also a lot of fun! We could not have asked for a better guide. He was knowledgeable as well about the religious history, and had much to inform us regarding Hinduism and Buddhism ( he is a former Buddhist monk). He was also very informative about the secular history, the various wars and civil wars, and showed us parts of the temples that depicted battles. He also told us an abbreviated story of the Ramakien as he showed us a mural depicting its battles, and explained the back story as well. This guy is amazing! He was also sensitive to our needs, when the heat got a little too much he tailored the tour for us. He took us to a great place for lunch. He also highlighted for us his favorite ruler,, Jayavarman VII, and the amazing city he built (Angkor Thom) and superlative temple (the Bayon, our favorite). (His driver, Khen, was also terrific with a really great sense of humor). If you can get Nak for your tour you will be very happy and well informed!
