Itinerary

The guide will pick up you at 8 am from your hotel and we will start this day with exploring the temples of UNESCO listed Angkor National Park, the World Heritage site and it's the World Largest Religious Monument. Pay the entrance fee on your own account at the ticket office where we will stop for you to buy one and make your way with the guide to the first stop at Angkor Wat to visit the largest and most impressive of all Angkor temples, considered among one of the 7th Wonders of the World.

Angkor Wat was built between 1113-1150 AD and dedicated to Vishnu, the Hindu god of preservation. It's the best preserved of all the temples. Its layout and its scale are simply breathtaking, the wall surrounding the enclosure measures 1,000 by 800 meters and the moat, said to represent the oceans of the world is 200 meters wide. Angkor Wat is an architectural allegory of the mythical Mount Meru in the center of the world (Himalaya). This amazing temple homes the longest continuous bas relief in the world, which runs along the outer gallery walls.

We also explore the Angkor Thom complex. Its vast walls, some 6m wide, 8m high and 13km in length contain many monuments. Inside the walls the king, his relatives and officials, military officers and priests took residence, the rest of the people lived outside of the great enclosure, between the two artificial lakes. Our visit will begin with the South Gate, a beautiful introduction to Angkor Thom with well-restored statues of Asuras (demons) and gods lining the bridge. Inside the complex, we will first visit the Bayon with 200 endless smiling faces. This temple mountain situated in the center of Angkor Thom City where sets the Bayon apart from many other Angkor monuments and we will continue to the Elephant Terrace, which owes its name to its outstanding depiction of these animals and the Terrace of Leper King, which presents a magnificent sculpture, popularly known as the leper king and then we continue the tour to Ta Phrom was a monastery built by the king Jayavarman VII as a residence for his mother as well as a school.

Ta Phrom has been controversially left to the destructive power of the jungle by French archaeologists to demonstrate the awesome power of nature. It has been largely consumed by the jungle and as you will climb through the dilapidated stone structures you will see many giant trees growing out of the top of the temple itself. At every turn you will expect to see Indiana Jones (Lara Croft) step out from behind a fallen pillar around you.

This tour concludes with return transfer to your hotel or any requested drop off point within the city center.

Fantastic guided private tour by Chanthorn

Chanthorn and his team was awesome in every aspect! He is professional and very knowledgeable. We thoroughly enjoyed our three-day tour, learnt much about the history and architecture. We like Chanthorn for his warm personality and great sense of humour. I had a small accident during our visit (careless me), and he’s willing to go the extra mile to offer help and adjust the schedule to better accommodate our needs. Would recommend him to anyone visiting the Angkor Complex!

Best Full Day Experience of Siem Reap

10/10. I would highly recommend any full day tour with Van Lonh and our driver Mr. Mill! My boyfriend and I had the best time possible and really thought we got to experience all that Siem Reap had to offer! We initially only hired Van Lonh as our tour guide to take us through Angkor Wat for one day but we enjoyed it so much we ended up booking him for another two days. Lonh was not only very knowledgeable about the city of Siem Reap and the history of all the temples throughout Angkor Wat, but he was also flexible, patient, considerate, and reliable. Mr. Mill was also superb- not only was he a great driver but also very safe! He also always had a cold water bottle and hand wipes in hand whenever we returned to the car. Day 1 consisted of touring the major temples of Angkor Wat, Bayon, and Ta prom. Already having looked up the weather forecast for the day, Lonh adjusted our day by guiding us through Angkor Wat first- thinking we would most likely be too hot and tired to enjoy it at the end of the day. Lonh was very knowledgeable about all the temples and was able to answer all our questions. He also knew all the best spots take photos! (Which is a major plus!) For lunch, we stopped at one of the restaurants within Angkor Wat- we were so happy to get out of the heat and drink some fresh coconut juice! Lonh also always had the most delicious recommendations. Day 2 consisted of seeing the famous sunrise in Angkor Wat, seeing some of the smaller temples (Preah Khan, Neak Pean, East Mebon, Pre Rup), and visiting Lonh’s family crocodile farm. Our day started very early at 5am! Lonh was punctual as always and guided us through the dark to the best spot to catch the sunrise and get a photo op. Van Lonh continued to fascinate us with all the facts and details he knew about every temple. After another long day of temples we stopped by Lonh’s family crocodile farm, which is the home of hundreds of crocodiles! We felt so special to have Lonh share this part of his personal life with us! We then ended the day with a massage at a spa that Lonh said gives the best massages in Siem Reap- and we were not disappointed! Lastly, we stopped by a local food truck to try bugs- which My boyfriend has wanted to check of his list since we landed in Cambodia. Day 3 we ventured outside of the city to the Thousand Shivalingas River, The Reclining Buddha, and Kulen Mountain Waterfall. This was a very nice change of pace after 2 days of touring temples. Lonh was also very kind enough to call Malis to help us book a reservation for dinner to celebrate my birthday without us having to ask him! Malis is known to be one of the best fine dining restaurants for Cambodian cuisine in Siem Reap. Overall, I would highly recommend Lonh as a tour guide in Siem Reap. He has a passion for what he does and only wishes for you to experience the best that Siem Reap has to offer. Let him know all the things you want to do and see and he will try his best to make it happen.

Temple Tour ❤️????????????

Khmer people have endured so much pain and loss yet they are still resilient, strong, filled with kindness and love ???? Our tour guide, Chau Touchsan, is an embodiment of this. He was knowledgeable, kind, and took countless lovely photos of us. I'm in awe of this beautiful country and the photos don't do it justice. We were picked up on time, large van had aircon and water bottles. Went to two temples locations, lunch, then last temple. Lunch was delicious and leisurely. Take the tour with him and you will not be disappointed.

Great tour with very experienced guide.

Visited in March just as the temples were becoming quiet. We were taken to some beautiful parts of the park and our guide San was excellent throughout the day. He knew every detail of the temple complex and took care of us like family. I highly recommend booking this company. I will use them again for another tour next year when things pick up.

Fantastic day visiting Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom and Ta Prohm and more.

We had a fantastic day visiting Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom and Ta Prohm. Our tour guide was Voath Vinh, who was very knowledgeable, friendly and interesting, throughout the day. He clearly knew a great deal about all the sites we visited and was able to share his knowledge in an engaging way. I would highly recommend both Green Era Travel and Voath in particular if you are thinking about visiting Cambodia in the future. This is clearly a challenging time for everyone but please consider supporting them by booking tours in the future for when the world starts to open for "business" again.
