Bamboo and Bats!

Well organized tour. Great knowledge about the area and showed you all the key things in the area. Loved the Bamboo train and the bats at the end are worth the wait. Lunch was great and you get some spring rolls at another stop as well. Long day but worth doing if you are short on time.

Guide San

A well organised day trip to the Battambang region. Well paced and very informative, very relaxed day. Our Guide, San, shared his vast knowledge and we had great fun on the Bamboo Train

Battambang, a Cultural Experience

The Guide San was the key to the day.His knowledge of the sites we visited as well as Khmer culture and history was outstanding. The tour was smooth and seamless as we moved from site to site and his personality worked so well with our group comprising 2 couples. This tour at around 15 hours is a very long one, and San was supported so well by our driver Channa who was most professional and safe, particularly as we travelled back in the dark. The tour and staff are highly recommended for anyone who wants to understand Cambodia in greater detail.

Worth time and money to fully enhance time in Cambodia.

San was our very helpful, knowledgeable, kind and observant guide. I felt completely safe and knew our driver Phearom was also mindful of helping us understand what we were seeing and get the best local treats along the route. It’s a long day but completely worth it with all you see and do. We came away feeling that we saw and learned much more about Cambodian life, history, language and kind people than if we had just stayed in Siem Reap. Waking around ancient, not touristy, temple ruins. Visiting local market and government building. Watching rice paper for spring rolls being made (and eating some!). Flying down tracks, through small town and countryside on bamboo train. Mesmerized by bats escaping cliff with huge Buddha stone carvings. Eating so many different treats. Meeting lots of kind local people. Don’t miss! Ar-kohn to San and Phearom.

Incredible day with amazing guide/driver

We had an incredible day with our tour guide Mr. Vireak and driver Mr. Channa. While the tour activities were all very engaging, the real highlight for us was the warmth and candor of our tour guide, who provided a wealth of information and history on the region throughout the day. While it’s a full day out including travel from Siem Reap, the itinerary is well paced and varied and we had plenty of opportunity for rest breaks as needed. Great company to work with and hope to use them again whenever we come back!

Battambang day trip from Siem Reap

Excellent day trip. Our driver Billy and tumour guide Nak were spot on, keeping the family informed, entertained and refreshed and fed.0700 pick up and 2100 return. The van was very comfortable with reclining seats that allowed us all to sleep while driving.Nak was extremely knowledgeable with very good English. He was able to answer all the various questions we had and inform us about Cambodian life and culture.Nak was previously a monk and was also able to explain what life was like as a practising monk for 10 years. All areas attractions we wanted to see were covered, a local temple, sampled local spring rolls and how they are made, Battambang market, lunch in a very nice local restaurant, museum, bamboo train, killing caves and bats.We felt safe with Billy driving and it was an extremely comfortable drive with breaks as required. I would recommend this day trip from siem reap rather than staying the night at Battambang, it worked better for us and there is more to do in the evenings in SR. The children really enjoyed the day (ages 7 & 10).

Amazing day out in Battambang

An amazing day to finish our holiday. Great drive there to meet our tour guide and tuk tuk driver David for the day. He was able to take us where we wanted to go rather than follow a set itinerary. The bamboo train is an amazing experience I would highly recommend. We also went on 2 suspension bridges. Lunch was at a very small local restaurant with excellent food. We wanted to see farming and were taken off the beaten track which was exactly what we wanted. Visited an oyster mushroom farm saw fruit bats, tried sticky bean rice and so much more. We enjoyed the views from the temple we wanted to visit and had a lift up and down in a truck. Then on to watch the millions of bats flying out of the cave at dusk.Good trip back to Siem Reap. We kept at 7am and returned at 9.30. Can't recommend the trip and David highly enough.A day to always remember.

Great tour to Battambang

We were picked up promptly at 7.30am by Nak and the driver. The vehicle was spotless. We had as much cold water as we needed for the journey and we were also supplied with cold refreshing towels. The journey to Battambang was a long one but it went quickly and it was helped along by Nak's commentary and insights into Cambodian life. The stops were all good and we found the rice paper one to be quite interesting (you might want to skip the tasting of the cooked spring roll as it was quite greasy) and the also the buddha and temple stop. The star of the show was the bamboo train which was a lot of fun - it was interesting to see that the road traffic had right of way rather than the train. We skipped the bat cave as we wanted to get back to Siem Reap by 6pm otherwise we would have been hanging around waiting for the bats and not getting back until 9-10pm which makes it a very long day. You might need to check what time the bats are due to come out as depending on the time of the year they can be early or much later.
