Itinerary

Begin your adventure with pickup from your Siem Reap hotel for the roughly 45-minute journey to Kompong Phluk. Depending on the season, you’ll travel by minibus (February to July) or by minibus and boat (August to January). Transfer to a small boat and set sail along the lake, passing stilted houses and schools, floating markets, pagodas, and fishing boats as your guide tells you more about local life, customs, and traditions.

Wet-season visitors can also opt to enjoy a traditional canoe ride around the flooded forests (for an additional expense) and experience the region’s unique ecosystem as you glide between the semi-submerged trees.

Back in Siem Reap, your tour ends with a drop-off at your hotel.

Floating village

We had an excellent trip with guide, Bunrong, booked through Tripadvisor. We were picked up from the hotel and dropped back so it was very easy. Driver was great and Bunrong spoke very good English and was very informative. The boat trip to the lake past the stilt houses and the small boat through the flooded forest both made for memorable experiences and well worth doing.

Tonle Sap Lake and Kampong Phluk village half day. Picked up promptly, driven to the village. Showed knowledge of area.

We had an amazing experience on our tour. Nothing was too much trouble for our guide, Sophy and our driver Mr Sieha. They were both friendly and professional. The tour itself was first class and would highly recommend.

This is a MUST visit experience

The guide (Sophy) was incredible - knowledgeable, informative, and considerate of our touristic needs. His English was superb which made our understanding of his culture all the more interesting. The village is an eye opener into how humans can live in harmony. The driver (Mr Sieha) drove with our safety in mind. He even took us to the night market as a bolt on toe our trip. The vehicle was clean and comfortable. A perfect trip, thanks.

A great way to learn about Cambodia

A great value for money tour which sheds light on just how important Tonle Sap lake is for Cambodia. Our tour guide, Pon, was so knowledgeable and spoke very clearly so our group could understand everything - very impressed. Seeing the houses on stilts in Kampong Phluk, and getting a glimpse into the daily lives of the local residents was quite special. There was an option to take an additional canoe ride through the mangroves but we chose to grab a quick bite to eat at the floating restaurant instead. The length of the tour was just right at 5.5 hours door to door, with sufficient pit stops and water! Really impressed with how well the tour was organised. I also really appreciated receiving an email following my booking confirmation with an approximate pick up time at my hotel, a small detail perhaps but it just made things run snoothly!

an unforgettable experience

We really enjoyed this tour. We were very impressed by the way of life of the inhabitants of the floating village. We especially remember meeting local schoolchildren and the opportunity to interact with them. This trip will remain in our memories for a long time. Special thanks to our guide Mr. Sophy and driver Mr. Phalit. We were surrounded by their attention and care throughout the entire trip. I highly recommend this tour.

A must see!

Bunrong was our guide and he was amazing, so lovely. Very informative, and took the time to explain everything on our journey & was so friendly. Took great care of us & even stopped at a coconut stand for us to get some green coconuts! The floating village was such a unique experience and definitely a must see when visiting Cambodia!

Hail Jack Family.

Transfers are very easy as they will take you to your hotel. Jack, our guide, was also very attentive and captivated the participants with his clever storytelling. He brought the group together as the "Jack Family." As for me, I am grateful that I was able to get dozens of photos willingly when I asked if I could get them during the rainy season. It was a perfect combination with driver M r.playboy. I'd like to see you again.

An Authentic Village Experience

Had a fabulous day out with Sophy. We started early and headed out to Kampong Pluk. Prior to going to the fishing village, we stopped at a local market that was super interesting. Sophy expertly led us through, pointing out things of interest along the way and helping us to interact with the locals. In the fishing village, we had a great time cruising the waterways, seeing the massive lake, and then walking through the village. The whole experience felt authentic and not too touristy like other things I have done in my travels. As a teacher, I particularly loved seeing the schools, and Sophy assisted me to interact with the children and teachers. We were on a tight time schedule and Sophy ensured we didn’t feel rushed but got back home in time for our international flight. A wonderful day out to a great location with an expert guide!

An enriching experience

The tour was enriching and insightful. The guide shared both historical and present knowledge of how things are for people in Cambodia. This trip is a definitive must for people who are planning to visit Siem Reap and want a full day of experience whilst still having free time in the morning and evening. Would Recommend.
