Itinerary

Begin your adventure with pickup from your Siem Reap hotel for the roughly 45-minute journey to Kompong Phluk. Depending on the season, you’ll travel by minibus (February to July) or by minibus and boat (August to January). Transfer to a small boat and set sail along the lake, passing stilted houses and schools, floating markets, pagodas, and fishing boats as your guide tells you more about local life, customs, and traditions.

Wet-season visitors can also opt to enjoy a traditional canoe ride around the flooded forests (for an additional expense) and experience the region’s unique ecosystem as you glide between the semi-submerged trees.

Back in Siem Reap, your tour ends with a drop-off at your hotel.

Peaceful day away from the city!

So beautiful and peaceful. Had an awesome guide, Nak, that took me to a village to experience life as a local. Definitely worth seeing the floating village and interacting with the people there!

The Best of the Best!

Wow! Nak Chum was an absolutely terrific guide! We can't recommend him enough. He provided the most wonderful introduction to Siem Reap by guiding us on a tour of Tonie Sap Lake, where we visited the floating village of Kompong Phluk. His knowledge of Cambodian history is thorough and impressive and added immeasurably to the experience. Our half day tour with Nak leading the way was deeply satisfying. We can't say enough good things about him or terrific tour company. We plan to enthusiastically recommend them both to all our friends traveling to this beautiful part of the world. Also, we wanted to mention our excellent driver. Oh, and thanks for the great photographs, Nak. You really are the best!

Floating Village, village market & lake ....

Great tour thank you Phy. We enjoyed the visit to the village and really appreciated an insight to the local market and village life. The visit to the floating village by boat was interesting and exposure to village culture insightful. We dodged the rain and appreciated Phy's knowledge and views on village life. A very enjoyable tour thank you

Great trip to Kampong Phluk village and Tonle Sap Lake

This tour would be a must see for everyone. The tour guide, Nak, explained about how Cambodians live, about the types of spices, fruits, local food that you could find in the village market, Buddhists life at the pagoda, about the Tonle Sap lake and many more. The ride there was done in a comfortable air conditioned vehicle and all items advertised have been available. Overall a very enjoyable morning and a recommendable tour.

A market, a village, a lake. Rural life

A very good 4 hour tour. We were back at our hotel by the time the heat set in. Good plan! The visit to the local rural market was really great. Clean, fresh and colourful. A lovely stroll past fruit, vegetables, live fish and meat. A trip down the river in a tourist boat to a wonderful inland sea - the largest freshwater lake in southeastern Asia. The cycle of the wet (monsoon) and the dry months and the effect on the lifestyle. Communities constantly moving with the changing climate. And the dramatic effect of climate change on a simple world. The floating village we stopped at was fascinating. Fish being prepared for smoking, a racing canoe for the annual November water festival, the excitement from children when getting books. Simple things showcasing a very different life to ours. Our guide was excellent. Interesting, knowledgeable and friendly. This was his community. A local street protest an our way home highlighted the reality of local life. Certainly worth doing

Wonderful trip,dont miss it :)

The tour was everything we hoped for and more. The driver that picked us up at our hotel arrived with a wide and comfortable van (which is not common in Cambodia). Our guide, Nak, was so kind and informative, you can really percive how much he is passionate about his work. The floating villages we visited are truly unique, really a sight to see. Tonle Sap lake is majestic as well and Nak will happily explain to you all you could possibly ask about it. I also personally reccomend the canoe ride. All in all it was a truly beautiful experience, you better not miss it.
