Itinerary

The guide will pick up you at 8 am from your hotel and we will start this day with exploring the temples of UNESCO listed Angkor National Park, the World Heritage site and it's the World Largest Religious Monument. Pay the entrance fee on your own account at the ticket office where we will stop for you to buy one and make your way with the guide to the first stop at Angkor Wat to visit the largest and most impressive of all Angkor temples, considered among one of the 7th Wonders of the World.

Angkor Wat was built between 1113-1150 AD and dedicated to Vishnu, the Hindu god of preservation. It's the best preserved of all the temples. Its layout and its scale are simply breathtaking, the wall surrounding the enclosure measures 1,000 by 800 meters and the moat, said to represent the oceans of the world is 200 meters wide. Angkor Wat is an architectural allegory of the mythical Mount Meru in the center of the world (Himalaya). This amazing temple homes the longest continuous bas relief in the world, which runs along the outer gallery walls.

We also explore the Angkor Thom complex. Its vast walls, some 6m wide, 8m high and 13km in length contain many monuments. Inside the walls the king, his relatives and officials, military officers and priests took residence, the rest of the people lived outside of the great enclosure, between the two artificial lakes. Our visit will begin with the South Gate, a beautiful introduction to Angkor Thom with well-restored statues of Asuras (demons) and gods lining the bridge. Inside the complex, we will first visit the Bayon with 200 endless smiling faces. This temple mountain situated in the center of Angkor Thom City where sets the Bayon apart from many other Angkor monuments and we will continue to the Elephant Terrace, which owes its name to its outstanding depiction of these animals and the Terrace of Leper King, which presents a magnificent sculpture, popularly known as the leper king and then we continue the tour to Ta Phrom was a monastery built by the king Jayavarman VII as a residence for his mother as well as a school.

Ta Phrom has been controversially left to the destructive power of the jungle by French archaeologists to demonstrate the awesome power of nature. It has been largely consumed by the jungle and as you will climb through the dilapidated stone structures you will see many giant trees growing out of the top of the temple itself. At every turn you will expect to see Indiana Jones (Lara Croft) step out from behind a fallen pillar around you.

This tour concludes with return transfer to your hotel or any requested drop off point within the city center.

Highly recommend Sath and Channa!

We highly recommend this private tour of Angkor Wat. Our English-speaking tour guide was very knowledgeable and helpful as we were travelling with kids. He was very accommodating to all our requests and took great photos. The van aircon was super cool after visiting the temples and we were offered plenty of water and face towels. We would highly recommend our guide Sath and driver Channa to anyone looking for a great experience in Angkor Wat!

Fantastic private tour of Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom and Ta Prohm Temple

Fantastic private tour of Angkor with our tour guide Sath and driver Mr Borey in July 2024, highly recommend! We visited Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom and Ta Prohm (tomb raider movie temple) over ~6 hrs including a lunch break in the middle. Sath is an excellent guide, super knowledgeable about the history of the temples and the interesting stories behind the artistic wall carvings. He is also a very good photographer and helped us take lots of great photos with the best angles! Communication before the tour was all very smooth. We appreciated having the AC van as the transportation and Mr Borey always had the van ready to pick us up immediately between sites, along with ice cold water and wet wipes (critical in hot, humid weather!). Note you need to buy the Angkor Wat entrance ticket on your own, and recommend buying online beforehand to save time on the day (we did this). Don't hesitate to book this tour!

We had an amazing experience with our tour guide, Nak, at the Angkor Wat temple in Cambodia. Nak's deep knowledge of the temple's history and architecture truly impressed us. He explained everything in an engaging and easy-to-understand manner, making the tour both informative and enjoyable. Nak was patient and attentive, answering all our questions and ensuring we had a memorable visit. His passion for Angkor Wat and Cambodian culture shone through in every detail he shared. We highly recommend Nak for anyone looking to explore this incredible UNESCO World Heritage site. Thank you, Nak, for a fantastic tour! Our driver (Channa) was excellent! He was punctual, courteous, and navigated the area expertly. His comfortable vehicle and smooth driving made our Angkor Wat visit even more enjoyable. Highly recommend his services!

An incredible day out!

An incredible day out! Our guide Sath and our driver Mr Borey were both amazing. Sath was very informative and an incredible photographer while Mr Borey had fresh cold towels and water ready and waiting for us when we returned to the car. The temples were all beautiful and we also experienced a delicious local lunch. I would definitely recommend this tour for anyone wanting to spend a day seeing Angkor Wat and the surrounding beautiful temples of Angkor Wat National Park.

Perfect tour day

Can’t imagine doing this trip without a guide. We learned so much about the history, the carvings and the religions. We took our 80 year old mother and our guide and driver were very accommodating and adjusted the tour to her needs. They also had cold water and towels!

Wonderful experience - definitely recommend

We had an absolutely amazing tour with Sokkhen. He was really kind and very knowledgeable about Angkor Wat and the whole area, and his personal history with the area was also fascinating and he shared his story throughout the trip. Would 100% recommend for anyone who wants to walk through the temples themselves but get fascinating stories and history of the area during the rides in between. He provided water and cold towels for us as well.

Best Temple Tour!

My tour guide Nak was amazing!! He was so kind and helpful throughout the day. He made sure I was well taken care of. He was also incredibly knowledgeable about the temples and their history. He even helped me to find the best shops to buy what I was looking for. I was so happy all day! I will definitely take this tour again when I come back to Cambodia.
