Itinerary

The guide will pick up you at 8 am from your hotel and we will start this day with exploring the temples of UNESCO listed Angkor National Park, the World Heritage site and it's the World Largest Religious Monument. Pay the entrance fee on your own account at the ticket office where we will stop for you to buy one and make your way with the guide to the first stop at Angkor Wat to visit the largest and most impressive of all Angkor temples, considered among one of the 7th Wonders of the World.

Angkor Wat was built between 1113-1150 AD and dedicated to Vishnu, the Hindu god of preservation. It's the best preserved of all the temples. Its layout and its scale are simply breathtaking, the wall surrounding the enclosure measures 1,000 by 800 meters and the moat, said to represent the oceans of the world is 200 meters wide. Angkor Wat is an architectural allegory of the mythical Mount Meru in the center of the world (Himalaya). This amazing temple homes the longest continuous bas relief in the world, which runs along the outer gallery walls.

We also explore the Angkor Thom complex. Its vast walls, some 6m wide, 8m high and 13km in length contain many monuments. Inside the walls the king, his relatives and officials, military officers and priests took residence, the rest of the people lived outside of the great enclosure, between the two artificial lakes. Our visit will begin with the South Gate, a beautiful introduction to Angkor Thom with well-restored statues of Asuras (demons) and gods lining the bridge. Inside the complex, we will first visit the Bayon with 200 endless smiling faces. This temple mountain situated in the center of Angkor Thom City where sets the Bayon apart from many other Angkor monuments and we will continue to the Elephant Terrace, which owes its name to its outstanding depiction of these animals and the Terrace of Leper King, which presents a magnificent sculpture, popularly known as the leper king and then we continue the tour to Ta Phrom was a monastery built by the king Jayavarman VII as a residence for his mother as well as a school.

Ta Phrom has been controversially left to the destructive power of the jungle by French archaeologists to demonstrate the awesome power of nature. It has been largely consumed by the jungle and as you will climb through the dilapidated stone structures you will see many giant trees growing out of the top of the temple itself. At every turn you will expect to see Indiana Jones (Lara Croft) step out from behind a fallen pillar around you.

This tour concludes with return transfer to your hotel or any requested drop off point within the city center.

Best photographer Tour Guide!

Our tour guide was named: VAN LONH. He was amazing!!!???????????????? Of course he preformed all his duties as a tour guide excellent, very knowledgeable and happy and upbeat. Always smiling and so funny! What made him AMAZING and the tour guide you should request is his eye for taking jaw-dropping photos of you. He was more then happy to take photos of all my friends and I. Not just point and click photos, but he really tried to get the BEST photos he could with the right lighting, angle and creativity. He also planned out our trip perfectly so that we would have the most energy level for each temple. The day was perfect and so was our guide VAN LONH! definitely book him if you like getting the best pictures in these historic sites.

GreenEraTravels, the best for Angkor Wat

‘Nak Chum’ should be the preferred tour guide for this place. We did a 1 day tour of Angkor Wat where he pumped us with energy, enthusiasm and knowledge on the history of this place starting from 420AM. He showed us each & everyplace highlighting its rich history and cultural heritage. We learnt so about so many stories that made us appreciate the architecture and the history of the place which would have taken weeks to google and learn about. Already being a Monk for 10-15 years, Nam Chum was very knowledgable, an excellent storyteller and took us to right places at right time. Wouldn’t have been better at all. Very fortunate for the day. Coming from another country, their hospitality impressed us owing to their sense of security & care shown throughout the trip. Must visit for everyone here.

Great day with a guided tour in Angkor Wat

This was a great daily tour with Choub Tola, who also spoke Spanish. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and besides learning a lot about Camboyan culture we also laugh a lot. He was respectful and he also gave us the opportunity to watch buddhist monks having their lunch. We totally recommend him to get to know Angkor Wat!

Great Tour !

We really enjoyed our experience today on our tour! Chanthorn was a very informative and kind tour guide. He knew lots of history about the temples and customized our trip to fit our needs. Unfortunately the balloon did not go up all the way because of the weather but we still enjoyed our view. Would recommend!

One day highlights trip of Angkor Temples

One day temple visit, we hit all the Major temples. Our tour guide Nak was very knowledgeable and tried very hard to explain all the history of the carvings on the walls. Angkor wat and Bayon were the highlights of the trip and are well worth visiting, as this is our second time to visit.

Visit of severals temples (Angkor wat, Ta Phrom, …).

I did my temple tour with Raksa Lor and I am very satisfied! I recommend this guide 100%. He speaks very good English and has a lot of knowledge. The visit is full of good humor and Raksa listens to our needs (break, speed of the visit that we prefer, …). Fresh water is always available and the restaurant for the lunch have a lot of dishes. I am vegetarian and I had no issue to find my happiness.
