Itinerary

Meet a driver at your hotel in Siem Reap for the scenic, 2-hour trip to Phnom Kulen Mountain, passing a landscape of tropical forest and rural communities in your air-conditioned vehicle.

The first stop of the day is a hilltop temple, where you’ll find a massive reclining Buddha carved directly into a sandstone boulder. Next, head to the River of a Thousand Lingas, exploring a riverbank adorned with ancient carvings of phalluses and Hindu gods.

Cool off at another sacred site, Phnom Kulen Waterfalls, which tumble into a wide basin that’s ideal for a midday swim or wade. Throughout the day, the guide will help bring the ancient sites to life by explaining their significance and symbolism, and you’ll have time to purchase lunch at a local restaurant before the return trip to Siem Reap.

Phearom is ace

What a lovely day! Phearom is an excellent guide giving you interesting snippets of the history and culture of the country. Those moments where you might be lost wondering what to do are alleviated and he has a great sense of humour to create a special day. The places you visit are interesting, beautiful and highly memorable. I highly recommend this tour.

Amazing experience

I had a really good day and enjoyed seeing the 1000 lingas, buddah statue and cooling of fun the waterfall. The guide, San, was very knowledgeable and keen to answer any questions. He gave us lots of facts about the national park, as well as Cambodian culture. San was also the perfect photographer and took some amazing pictures for us! He even extended his tour guide duties to sending some information about other sites to see in siem reap. Overall a really good experience, one which I would definitely recommend!

Amazing trip, 10/10 would recommend

Guide: Mr San Chau is a committed and well-informed tour guide with great knowledge on Cambodian history, religion, and culture and an incredible treasure of humour and personal experience. He is happy to comply with individual wishes and requests. Amazing! Driver: The minibus was equipped with AirCo and seemed like it came straight from the car dealer. The driver did his best to avoid potholes. Sights: The trip was carefully planned to avoid peak times of other tourist groups. Phnom Kulen National Park is definitely worth a visit, and Mr San Chau made sure that we not only saw the sights but also got in touch with locals and learnt about history, culture and the environment of the sights.

The Best Experience

San is an incredible guide. I came to Cambodia on a solo trip, and had started out renting a tuk tuk at Angkor Wat. It wasn’t until I went on the tour with San that I realized HOW MUCH context I was missing. He is a breadth of information. And the experiences we had, the photos we took, the places we went... all spectacular and special to me. I’m so thankful I had this day.

Amazing trip!

We had a lovely time on the tour, everything was fascinating to see, there were such beautiful sights as we traveled through Cambodia’s lush countryside. I particularly enjoyed the waterfall, which was absolutely stunning and a great way to cool down. The Reclining Buddha was also amazing and it was interesting to learn more about the Buddhist religion. Our guide, San, was very knowledgeable, with fluent spoken English, he had many interesting facts and stories to tell, and now I definitely know more about Cambodia’s culture and history. San was very friendly and helped make our tour as enjoyable as it was!

Fancy a plunge?

San was a very informative on this tour. We visited a temple, a river and Kulen waterfall. All had a religious context and he knew his information and explained all aspects to us. It’s important to understand a context of a place and not just have an Instagram capture. The tour was easy going and relaxed. Practicals : We had adequate bathroom breaks and lunch stop. Water provided for. Have comfy shoes, sunscreen, spare toilet paper, water and your swimming gear If needed at the falls.

1000 Lingas, Waterfall Tour w/ San

San was awesome! Very knowledgeable, kind, and professional. He is very passionate about Cambodian culture, and it shows in his amazing tour! :) He went out of his way to help us understand and learn about Cambodia. His partner Pip was equally helpful, providing us with fresh water and snack all along the way. I recommend this tour to anyone in Siam Reap and have developed a new respect for the Kingdom of Cambodia and it's people thanks to this unique experience.

Underrated but good

Phnom Kulen is one of those place that people rarely visit coz the transport is difficult hence u need to book tour. But I can tell you it worths a visit. The reclining buddha is my personal favourite. It embodies the culture.I would recommend u to book this tour with green era, u can get a cheaper entry ticket (18 USD instead of 20). My tourguide, Marin, was informative. Really like him. Several tips: 1. Prepare small change, i.e. 100/500 riel. U can put this in the buddha statue 2. U can get the blessing from the monk. It's a nice experience 3. Get the rolled pancake stuffed with sticky rice, sugar, and coconut on yr way out of the reclining buddha. It is really nice 4. Bring towel and change cloth for the waterfall. At the waterfall, u can store yr thing at a locked chest for only 1 dollar.
