Itinerary

The guide will pick up you at 8 am from your hotel and we will start this day with exploring the temples of UNESCO listed Angkor National Park, the World Heritage site and it's the World Largest Religious Monument. Pay the entrance fee on your own account at the ticket office where we will stop for you to buy one and make your way with the guide to the first stop at Angkor Wat to visit the largest and most impressive of all Angkor temples, considered among one of the 7th Wonders of the World.

Angkor Wat was built between 1113-1150 AD and dedicated to Vishnu, the Hindu god of preservation. It's the best preserved of all the temples. Its layout and its scale are simply breathtaking, the wall surrounding the enclosure measures 1,000 by 800 meters and the moat, said to represent the oceans of the world is 200 meters wide. Angkor Wat is an architectural allegory of the mythical Mount Meru in the center of the world (Himalaya). This amazing temple homes the longest continuous bas relief in the world, which runs along the outer gallery walls.

We also explore the Angkor Thom complex. Its vast walls, some 6m wide, 8m high and 13km in length contain many monuments. Inside the walls the king, his relatives and officials, military officers and priests took residence, the rest of the people lived outside of the great enclosure, between the two artificial lakes. Our visit will begin with the South Gate, a beautiful introduction to Angkor Thom with well-restored statues of Asuras (demons) and gods lining the bridge. Inside the complex, we will first visit the Bayon with 200 endless smiling faces. This temple mountain situated in the center of Angkor Thom City where sets the Bayon apart from many other Angkor monuments and we will continue to the Elephant Terrace, which owes its name to its outstanding depiction of these animals and the Terrace of Leper King, which presents a magnificent sculpture, popularly known as the leper king and then we continue the tour to Ta Phrom was a monastery built by the king Jayavarman VII as a residence for his mother as well as a school.

Ta Phrom has been controversially left to the destructive power of the jungle by French archaeologists to demonstrate the awesome power of nature. It has been largely consumed by the jungle and as you will climb through the dilapidated stone structures you will see many giant trees growing out of the top of the temple itself. At every turn you will expect to see Indiana Jones (Lara Croft) step out from behind a fallen pillar around you.

This tour concludes with return transfer to your hotel or any requested drop off point within the city center.

Visiting the Temples!

Chet was an amazing tour guide! He really knew what he was talking about and had a story to tell about anything you asked him. I would really recommend him if you want to go see the temples because he was so knowledgeable about all the temples that we visited. Chet is really friendly and I couldn’t recommend him more!

Terrific day

Thanks everyone for a very enjoyable day with the tour of Angkor Wat. For the first timers and given the heat of the day, the tour was well paced, informative and entertaining.

Very informative

We had Sammnang as our tour guide on our full day Angkor Wat tour. He did not dissapoint. He picked us up directly from our hotel and was prompt. His English was quite good and he was very knowledgeable about the temples and the history surrounding them. If we had gone by ourselves we wouldn’t have known any of the backstory just from wandering around. It was a long, hot day but we got to see so many things. The only complaint we might have would be that the restaurant we were taken to for lunch was a bit expensive in comparison to most of the restaurants in Siem Reap. It was definitely a touristy place because many guides were dropping their groups off for lunch at this spot. The food was good but pricey by Cambodian standards. As a whole, we would recommend this tour and especially Sammnang.

Remarkable trip to Angkor Wat with Van Lonh

The best guide, nice photos, well managed trip We booked the tour online for a full day trip small group tour to Angkor wat with Green Era travel. I have a couple of friends with me and Mr. Van Lonh was our guide. There are only six in our group. Van Lonh is a guy with lot of knowledge and explain us very well about the history, culture, belief, dos and donts etc. throughout the whole trip. We did enjoy the tour and having fun with him. He is so patient, always smiling, helpful, telling jokes and the best part for three of us is his photo taking skill which is the extra bonus for us. We like taking photos and he knows a lot of good spot to take pictures and knows some tricks to get very good photo. We learnt his trick and its very useful for us who love to take photos everywhere we visit :) . He advised us how to post and he took a lot of pictures for all of us. He took good care of us and the trip with him is really amazing and worh all the pennies we spent for this trip. The pickup, air con car, water bottle (this is the most important as the weather is so hot and humid that we need to drink lots of water), the photos and the cambodian style lunch is soo good. We are really happy having him as our guide. If you want a trip to relax, fun and having photos, Mr. Van Lonh (George) is the guide you have to ask for.

Amazing day

We had an amazing day at Angkor Wat, which was made even more enjoyable by our tour guide Vichet. His knowledge on the temples and friendliness throughout made it a really lovely day. The temples themselves are so interesting but I would really recommend having a guide too as it allows you to learn so much more than you would on your own. We can’t thank Vichet enough for making our experience so wonderful

So many amazing sights

We recently went on the full day tour and had a great time. We spent most of the morning at Angkor Wat, which was truly amazing. Our van had a cooler of ice water which was unexpected and very much appreciated with the heat! Stopped for lunch and then off to the rest of the tour. Our guide, Phearom, was great. He had a vast knowledge of the history of all the temples, which was very interesting hearing for the first time. He was also very friendly and personable and we enjoyed chatting with him during some of the downtimes we had during the tour.

Excellent tour with Phearom

Visited Angkor Wat, Ta Prohm, and Angkor Thom. Phearom was knowledgeable, humorous, and extremely amiable throughout the entire day. He was easy to understand and he spoke extensively about the history of the country and the various temples. I would highly recommend him as a guide. Definitely eat the fish amok and definitely stay to see the sunset at Angkor Wat.
